Why do you hate Yasuo?

Teslyn··6 votes·1,048 views

With his ban rate at the point is so high, I am curious why people have chosen him to be among the top bans.

Personally: I find his most annoying trait to be His Q. it charges up with only 2 times it is used. I feel that making the ability into a 3 time use to charge would make him more fair to fight against.

Windwall.

A carry SHOULD NOT have a defensive ability that can defend the ENTIRE TEAM in such a big area for such a long time.

It should be a reactionary ability, something like Fioras riposte, not an entire wall that you can send anywhere.

Teslyn2 votes

if they made his wind wall actually destroy-able that may tone down the hate for him.

its is unique but health on the wall could fix that issue.

possibly scale the health with damage or something along that lines.

"Look at me, I'm so cool, I'm dashing."

Fuck this

Junglerz Fault4 votes

Way too snow ball-y. Can come from behind with nothing and be legendary by the end of the game, sort of like tryndamere.

His Q is able to be held for too long. Windwall blocking entire things (Nami's wave for example) by hitting the last pixel in it (I don't have a problem with his wall other than that). The stupid interaction where if you ult someone, it will push you 45 feet away just so you're not in tower range. His shield.

Now, this stuff isn't a problem in of itself. But, when you combine it all, it's very annoying. And not even just combining it all. Combining it all on a champ that nukes you once he has 2 items. His power spike is too early for a "late game" champ in my opinion.

Basically, I just hate overloaded champions. And Yasuo is very overloaded.

Oh, and it seems like every Yasuo I get on my team feeds their ass off and it completely useless.

His Q is able to be held for too long.

Um what? In the early game he is able to hold it for 3 seconds with attack speed runes (about 2 seconds without attack speed runes) if you include its cd as opposed to the time before the nerf where he could hold it for 7. Are you serious?

9Wly9oMl021 votes

Ok, when was it nerfed? I have not played for a lil bit.

[1] Windwall can outright negate certain champions during fights if they rely on projectiles

[2] Yasuo tends to screw over team compositions (since he will often be chosen in place of a mage or tank)

[3] Personal experience has led me to distrust Yasuo players. Whether they are on my team or the enemy team, I find they are rather likely to AFK, rage, feed and/or play alone if the game isn't favourable for them.

I ban Yasuo because I dislike playing with or against him. I'm simply happier when he isn't in the game so I ensure he isn't.

It's time for an experiment, just follow those steps:

1: Visit champion.gg and take a look at the "OVERALL PERFORMANCE RANKING". 2: Check the right top corner, default setting is "League: Platinum+" 3: Change it to "League: Bronze"

Ah yes, a spike from a 50.14% to 53.36% in toplane, and from 48.18% to 51.81% in midlane.

A 3% increase in winrate is the cause of this? Well how about Yorick, who gets a 5% winrate increase? I don't see him banned or hated very often. Miss Fortune spikes 4% in winrate, I don't see the community shunning everyone who plays her.

You are delusional. You're in denial of how frustrating and agonizing Yasuo is to play against. Yea keep blaming it on low elo.

Marshbouy1 votes

He's simply proving that Yasuo isn't some busted champion who can 1v5 late game. He's proving that if you are good at the game Yasuo isn't a threat anymore.

Dextix LT5 votes

That is not the FUCKING PROBLEM. How many times will people have to repeat this to every yasuo defender in the fucking boards.

YASUO IS NOT OP, HE IS FRUSTRATING!!!!

How many FUCKING TIMES will this need to be repeated in HOW MANY MORE THREADS?

ThePikol3 votes

Because I play mostly Mages so I have a lot of projectiles and windwall is annoying. Aslo even when I win lane he just have to buy 2 items to deal more dmg than my adc

GULAG 4 U4 votes

Well does he outdamage your 1.5 items adc or your 3 items adc? Because it's highly unlikely for him to outdamage a 3 items adc.

Best princess EU2 votes

yeah that doesn't make sense

as a mage main, not only i don't have any problems against yasuo as i understood how to play against him with a mage but also, if i destroy him because he didn't build item 3155 , there is no way he will outdamage my adc

just no way

ThePikol3 votes

It's not that unlikely in Silver for adc to not deal dmg...

GULAG 4 U2 votes

Well I'm assuming they are both autoing shit, of course yasuo will outdamage your adc if he's being a useless shit not autoing. That's not a valid comparison.

Marshbouy1 votes

"a good Yasuo is better than a bad ADC" no shit dude.

Myrmiron3 votes

His early game is ways too strong for how broken his late game is, also his jumps and his windwall are annoying to deal with as well. But thanks to Riot senpai I can make sure I never have to see this emote spamming POS ever again. <3

inuitmailman1 votes

His lvl 2, is strong and that's it tell late game.

Personally, i dont hate him. He's simply extremely, extremely unfun to play against - similar to Teemo and Riven. Even if he does no damage whatsoever he is still incredibly unsatisfying to play against because you have to devote a lot more resources to killing him than what is normal for champions like him.

Low-elo translation: You have to work very hard to catch up and kill him, even if he is far behind. He is great at running away, thus you have to spend lots of time (and perhaps even summoner spells) to catch and kill him even if he's 0/7

Which leads me to my second reason for disliking him - whenever he is picked on my team i KNOW he's going to go 0/7. I dont ban him these days as there are higher priorities, but there was a point during his golden age where i would ban him just to make sure nobody would play him on my team.

Hèntaî 1 votes

You dont have to use up too much to kill him though, all it really takes is a well timed exhaust and a stun or two.

In other words, you need to switch out heal/teleport/barrier/ignite for exhaust, JUST for the sake of one enemy champion

And you have to make sure you allways keep the summoner spell up for said champion, never blowing it on anyone else lest you wont be able to kill him

Oh and you're forced to play a champion with CC.

Hèntaî 1 votes

Exhaust is a good take though, even if yasuo isnt in game. Also you dont always have to use it on yasuo to kill him, you can use it on whoever ya feel, and also you are not forced to play a champion with cc.

I don't hate Yasuo, but the only thing that i find annoying on him is his Q. Never had a problem with anything else.

Granted if it was more like Annie where he can't spam it as often and maybe get a 'gauge' to allow more telegraph'd gameplay so its more easier to know what stack he is on(since usually once he hits the ready stack its a little hard sometimes to use his visual or sound effect as a effective reminder when he is going to instant launch it and gain 1 or 2 stacks again as soon as he launches it thanks to low Q CD spamming.

But seriously imagine anime in general where the most 'popular ones' (Naruto and Bleach for example especially when they were still active) where everyone instantly defaults their own 'in game name' or even their 'original characters' as usually some Uchiha or 'Kurosaki', etc. etc., even if said original character they basically wrote a fanfic for is extremely mary sue tier level of bs'ery.

That's pretty much what Yasuo is, a champion who is like your typical edgelord looking cool champion that everyone wants to use that character's name and basically ignore all the other characters who are likely alot more effective then 'Uchiha' especially in the pre-Shippuuden timeskip and beyond where the 'main character and rival characters' tend to be whiny or egotistical know it alls even when they get their arses beat up by what seems like a stupid 'ability' yet it is way more effective them someone able to 'read the movements of another person' or get the standard 'able to throw some energy projectile that somehow instant wins against everything it fights besides the 'scripted fights said MC is suppose to lose', just to get much stronger within less then a episode later.

[slayer-jinx-unamused]

Champions like Zed Draven Darius and etc. may tend to be annoying champions to go against but they can atleast be over come in certain ways, with Yasuo he just scales up just with pure levels on that Q cooldown and just having a bit of raw AD picked up early (or his insanely high way of getting high crit rate so he gets high damage burst especially at 100% crit rate which he could even achieve straight up with a completed item 3046 or item 3087 alongside a item 1018 right at 3400 gold, then pick up any slack with raw damage after that), will let him EZ lock a lane to control the CS with no issue beyond him getting heavily ganked to break the lockdown.

Plus how about we go the reverse angle of that appeal? Namely people getting the mary sue mindset in thinking Yasuo is just like their typical Sasuke Uchiha who is so cool that beyond certain scripted losts, he pretty much EZ wins every fight. So those people end up thinking Yasuo will EZ win also and end up just feeding instead because they think they are some bloke who gets a instant one shot pistol and fire it like a machine gun and said bullets can also fly thru walls and they can see past walls, they think they only need to press one button and everything dies, when they instead just press one button and kill themselves in the process.

SammyDayspring2 votes
  1. His scaling - e.g., he can get 100% crits with only 2 items, takes an expensive, nearly full build for anyone else to do that.
  2. His windwall blocks so much, even if it is cast late.
  3. His ult works off of so many different champion abilities.

What all of this amounts to is that even mediocre Yasuo players can wreck a team once they have a couple of items. Usually shutting someone down during laning is the way you deal with their scaling, but with Yasuo, that is less effective.

I'm sure higher tier players can deal with him more easily. They usually have better teamwork and better macro play. He is too oppressive in lower tiers, and it isn't totally based on player skill. It is more about his kit and his scaling.

he is in my top 10 hated champs he is really annoying and ever yasuo main rage flame all the team if he die last game I was lb vs yasuo mid at the end of the game yasuo was 1/20 coz when I killed him 3 times he started trolling thats why everyone hates yasuo/riven mains

I have literally no problems fighting him unless I am playing a champion who he counters. I think people just refuse to learn how to play against him.

Marshbouy2 votes

that's irrelevant. I never said anything in my comment about him being OP. The author of this post asked "why do you ban Yasuo?" and i explained why I don't.

Lauchmelder2 votes

That actually makes no sense. What if you only enjoy champions he counters? Sure you can play against your counters too, but why bother when you can just ban him?

Marshbouy1 votes

that's super irrelevant. If he counters me, I ban him. If he does not directly counter me, I ban akali.

Lauchmelder2 votes

Yes, but why do I have to listen to idiots constantly throwing out the "git gud" bullshit then? (not targeted at you)

Marshbouy1 votes

Because most of the time, that's the solution. High elo players have no problems facing Yasuo players, they might find him annoying, but not OP. It's low elo that struggles to face Yasuo.

Junglerz Fault2 votes

Which is about 75% of the player base. See the problem?

Yaśuo Main2 votes

The problem is that 75% of the player base is fucking bronze. That's an issue.

The thing that I don't like with Yasuo is his passive sheild. It always feels like he get it up again right in the last second to save him and make him kill me instead. I know I can play around it by poking it down and then engage so it isn't a nightmare. Though that he gets it back after he uses his ult is the tilting part that I think should be removed. Otherwise hes shield is very interactive to be up against.

I never ban Yasuo, not because I know he will get banned anyway but I have so many more champions that are so much worse to go up against than Yasuo. Cough Darius Cough

Rockm Sockm1 votes

Yasuo is easy to play against and punish.

His kit is overloaded and there is no denying that. Melee carries kit practicaly require it to function.

It doesn't change the fact his presence sucks the fun out of the game.

Everyone has champs that are boring or annoying to play against.

Laning against a Teemo or Nasus is a giant snooze fest.

I can't stand yi, especially on my team.

This thread is a giant circle jerking of people patting themselves on the back by talking smack to others.

Why do you care if people think he's annoying?

Teslyn1 votes

i care because i am actually curious. he is #1 ban in all regions but he is still up in the top 5 in every region. i was just wondering what people thought about him.

Support Position1 votes

Passive shield. And his windwall. Once those are gone forever from him and replaced. He wont be banned anymore. And won't be overloaded with absolute bs...

Honestly, I've ever had much of a problem against Yasuo. Maybe occasionally a one-trick will do well against me, but the occasional Yasuo player isn't hard to beat. When I'm playing mid and the enemy picks Yasuo, I almost always pick JarvanIV and go on to make the Enemy Yasuo cry.
