Last Hitting with Mages has been so god damn awful this season, and the worst part is, some mages cant even last hit with the conventional formula:

Melee Minions: 2 Turret Shots + Auto. Caster Minions: Auto + Turret Shot + Auto.

Some mages have so little AD that hitting a melee minion after 2 shots wont kill it. It makes CSing awful. If you are unwilling to give us this mastery back you need to adjust accordingly by either giving mages more AD early game or increasing the damage turrets do to minions. I dont care as long as CSing doesn't feel this unbearable.

Arcane Blade was removed because it looked far better than it actually was. Early game, most mages have about 30 AP with a Doran's Ring start and AP Quints, meaning this mastery gave about 1-2 on-hit magic damage. Late game, when you have 400 AP, it still only translates to 20 on-hit damage, and by that point, you can farm with abilities easily.

Take the extra damage to minions mastery. It gives you more benefit early game than Arcane Blade ever did. If you still struggle with early-game CS'ing that much, then just take AD Marks. The extra gold earned will be worth it.
