Farsight Alteration is the most disgustingly OP ward ever

I disagree, the old Yellow trinket upgrade was more OP. It had comparable cooldown on charges and the wards were invisible.

Ultîma24 votes

Limitless ward placement on blue trinket can pretty much allow anyone to completely cover a quadrant of the jungle in vision. From a distance.

DrCyanide21 votes

It also allows for anyone to single handedly deny vision from that quadrant of the jungle. I prefer the old.

Westonbirt1 votes

Yeah, that's the part people forget when they go on and on about farsight.

THE WARD IS VISIBLE AND DESTRUCTIBLE IN ONE HIT.

softest boy1 votes

That's why I place it in bushes that are normally overlooked. You could put one ward in the bush next to mid-lane turret on the other side of the jungle wall and they won't destroy it until 20+ minutes.

Westonbirt1 votes

Yeah but that makes the main problem with farsight even more obvious : it doesn't provide vision where you need it the most, to avoid ambushes and check when your enemies are going through common paths.

I guess with all these blue trinkets the jungle's pretty lit item 3751 item 3363 item 3751

Is that a sneaky sonic cd reference?

That must hurt tho.

Rendath5 votes

Depends. In a long game our entire jungle is lit up. It's never been possible for a single person to bring this much vision to the table before. Especially because at my mmr, enemies often walk right over this visible ward without noticing it.

Ultraboomer3 votes

it helps to put it next to a wall so that other than the health bar it pretty much blends in. btw, saw you were at score of 0, have an upvote.

Delioth3 votes

Well, it was possible before the warding changes a couple years ago when they got the ward limit- when supports bought sightstone and wards and that was it. Wards everywhere, lighting up the map.

I use it almost every game as a top laner. It's great, amazing for splitpushing.

Void Nargacuga14 votes

Though if your a support/jungler I would understand why you don't take it.

Blue Moon Wolf4 votes

If you buy item 2045 item 2303 item 2302 or item 2301 as support, getting item 3363 wouldn't be a bad idea unless you prefer item 3341 over item 3340 to begin with. As for a junglers, I definitely understand not getting it when item 3711 is your only option for extra wards .__.

darkmatchwaldo6 votes

Taking item 3363 if you're support with item 2045 is kinda just a bad idea though. You really should have a item 3341 considering the fact that as a support denying vision is just as important as obtaining it. Keeping the enemy in the dark is an extremely important tactic, one that is really not used as often as it should be in low ELO like my own.

Most OP ward ever? No. That title belongs to the old yellow trinket upgrade.

Most OP ward available?

I'd agree

Wimbledofy8 votes

These blue trinkets are at least equally op as the old upgraded yellow trinket. Yellow trinket could have 3 wards max in map. Blue trinket has no cap and if you spam it off cd you can easily have your jungle fully warded.

Ultraboomer1 votes

he might be referring to the vision totem.

kaltenashes9 votes

its great, i'd love if teammates would help me warding the whole map, but the yellow trinket is still useful like if you're playing as a champ who can ward hop or if you have tp

TurquoiseYoshi9 votes

I feel like this is what Riot did to compensate everyone who did remember to upgrade their wards at Level 9. Now you're able to take a free upgrade at 9 that's far better than the normal thing everyone else took.

Ultraboomer2 votes

what I find strange is that everyone talks about the farsight alteration as if it's a completely new item, when all they did was remove the lifespan from the farsight orb's ward, and remove the 120 second wait if you went from yellow trinket to it. which did make it infinitely better, tbh.

The old yellow trinket got removed, which is what people usually got. So now people are experiencing an item they never used before.

Sire Hippington1 votes

removed lifespan and lower cd are pretty big though + other options are way weaker now. Old farsight had to deal with a 120sec stealthward on 60sec cd at lvl 9. new one has to feal with a 120 sec stealthward on 120sec cd at lvl 18.

It may be op, but it's also the only viable trinket besides Oracle Alteration. The yellow trinket has an absurdly long cooldown/recharge time for like, the first 15 levels, and the duration the wards last are pathetic. I had a game last night where I was being camped, and my jungler complained I wasn't warding enough when it's like... all I can do is place a pink, and a 60 second ward every 3 minutes. I'm trying my best to preserve myself here, despite getting dove 4 times, and yet Riot wanted to take away sight wards for absolutely no reason in compensation that they nerf yellow trinket, further hindering our sight.

Kaeblen7 votes

I buy it most of the time. It is extremely useful, but less so when you are playing more competent teams.

against any team that is fairly competent, those wards get cleared away pretty fast. That's not to say it isn't useful; just that it's only OP when your foes refuse to clear out the 1 hp visible wards.

WhiperSnapers7 votes

I noticed that ever since they decided to make warding a "team effort" by removing the green wards there has been an extreme drop in vision. As a support player vision control was a major part of what I did. Last season denying enemy vision was what won games, but in this new season there is already an extreme lack of warding making it harder to further deny vision because I've found that 90% the places that I would usually find a ward aren't warded. This makes item 3341 pointless to have because whenever I do grab it I usually end up wasting it on areas that should have been warded but weren't.

With the item 3363 you can get wards in areas without the enemy knowing where you are and since they dont have a time limit the ward can basically last the entire game. It is easily the most OP thing in the game so use it while you can because an item this good is sure to be nerfed in the future.

Can confirm. No one wards but me.

As an ADC i use it pretty much every game, actually, maybe even as a mid if i have a champ who needs a lot of vision for functioning properly (Like Lux)

Kaeblen5 votes

you mean as ANYONE who doesn't buy item 3341 item 3364 ?

Knoyle1 votes

Those are only useful in my opininon when you have to go against a Teemo or Akali. The latter not being as bad if you can just AoE them out of the cloud.

Battlecast Sona2 votes

the oracle upgrade actually isn't super useful against stealth anymore because it doesn't actually reveal them (just shows their outline). I mean, it's still useful, but only if you have AoE to use to burn them down. Of course, it still works great on teemo traps. =P

Knoyle2 votes

also I realized hunting down champs like Teemo is actually easier with Kennen due to his w only being usable as a skill when a target with mark is within range. While it doesn't outright reveal him You can atleast pinpoint where he is and use ult which still hits him even while stealthed. Also since Kennen only uses skill shot, auto hit and a moving attack It's not impossible to full on stun him pre ult. (I'm sure this is common knowledge and such but I am proud of finding it on my own instead of having looked it up)

I totally get you. I'm still proud of that day when I 100-0'd stealthed Akali with nonstop Maokai AOE's. (gosh, that was so fun! I couldn't see her for nearly the entire fight --> CC + CC + ... wait, is that a corpse?)

Sometimes it is better for the enemy not to know when you spot them . .

XeroKimo5 votes

If they made the trinket be 60cd and 180 duration by late game, yellow trinket would be more desirable

When you are winning it is amazing because the enemy can't push up and take them out but when they can it doesn't do much.

Vision is just as much about where the enemy is NOT at, as where the enemy IS at. The blue trinket is basically infinite pink wards without far-sight.

If the enemy is killing your blue wards, then you know where they are and you can collapse on them and kill them. If they're too strong for you to beat them, then it is no different than if they got a red trinket and swept your jungle, or the old oracles (Yes, I know that was way back in s3, but RIP Oracles :( ).

The best part about blue wards is you know where they are not, AND you can get vision of where they ARE for baron/drag instead of face-checking it. Personally, I love the new blue trinket more than the old yellow because I can keep my entire jungle warded the entire game. With the old yellow, it was strong, but still prone to being swept (blue is on a shorter CD by over a minute!) and you were maxed at 3. With the blue, you can be dropping wards while not deviating from walking to lane (which is amazing) and they last until cleared.

tl;dr: Semi-spammable, no placement cap pink-esq wards that have the extra advantage of being the farsight to check drag/baron too! They're as strong as the old yellow with a 3 ward cap.

I use item 3363 . They are silly broken

This thing is legit amazing. I've given up the red trinket/upgrade in almost every game because the vision this thing provides is amazing. I've had games where the enemy team doesn't pay attention to bushes and I have their entire jungle warded for 5+ minutes.

Not to mention the amazing objective control blue trinket gives you. Just plop one in the back of each pit and it was stay there until the enemy team starts the Baron/Herald/Drag.

HopFrogger3 votes

I think people will use it more once they realize how ridiculous those wards really are.

w> If you place over 193 in a game and they do not get destroyed the game crashes. I tried it with some friends trying to get sion to 50k hp and the game crashed with 193 up on our side and about 89 on their side

willuwontu2 votes

Me and 2 other on a team had it once, was the game with the most vision ever for me.

Clown Apocalypse2 votes

Not gonna lie I had never used it till I saw a thread about it. I didn't realize they lasted forever and had no limit. Now I get it on everybody. I can fill up our jungle with wards that rarely get cleared and sit there a good portion of the game. I love it. I'm wondering how noticeable the coming nerf will be.

EvilMerodach2 votes

Upgraded yellow trinket last season was more OP...and still no one got it. Scrubs gonna scrub, making trinkets all newb friendly and they'll still fk it up.

Llanite2 votes

If everyone used blue, the opposing team starts seeing your wards and delete it.

It's only strong because no one uses it.

Singing Lark2 votes

The problem is that blue trinket only offers you 1 weak and visible ward every 45 seconds. Which means if your whole team switches to blues, you're going to have a hard time securing vision around dragon and baron fights. You would need your support to be really smart on their sightstone charges to keep vision around in the area. Despite how weak the yellow trinket is atm, it still offers better ward coverage for objective fights than blues.

Also, blues are so easy to clear. I've had games where three people on my team (including me) have switched over to blues and were warding whenever it was off CD. Still 90% of our map was dark. Honestly the new blue trinket was probably designed to be like the new Frost Queen's Claim. You use it to scout out an area before you get there. It has a lower CD so you can scout more often. And that's why it's actually bad if your just relying on these blue wards for vision.

The fundamental problem is that we have no other options since green wards have been taken out of the shop and their duration nerfed on sightstone and the pretty underwhelming trackers knife. You can only put down 1 pink at a time, they're not invisible, and often times, around mid game, you won't even have an item slot for a pink, which pretty much leaves no other option but blues since yellow trinket is absolute garbage. But blue trinket relies too heavily on the other team being bad, which isn't healthy gameplay.

[[I will admit sometimes up against teams who don't clear wards, you can light up their jungle for a while until someone takes a stroll through all the bushes and completely destroys your ward coverage in less than a minute.]]
