Best mid-laners to climb out of bronze with?

Hey, I've been playing mid in ranked for a while and I was wondering if I was playing the right champions. My go-to pick is Veigar but usually the enemy picks an assassin. So I've been trying to learn Annie to stop that but I don't really like her playstyle. My top 3 picks for mid are Veigar Orianna Lux and I don't really know if they're the best. Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Play who you like and are good at playing.

You will eventually get out of their and into hell

Completely assassin-proof when mastered at that elo. No one knows how to play against you (so even though you're not supposed to snowball in lane, you can).

At 3 items you can 1 vs 2/3. Abilities are easy to land (no mana costs), infinite sustain, AOE nukes, on demand escape blood pool.

If your team is not defeated before you scale, you'll probably win

heimerdinger. He requires more technical knowledge of the game to play against and that's what bronze players lack.

Play champion you can learn just by reading their abilities. It lets you focus on the macro game much sooner than having to learn them throughout 20~30 games.

These champions are fine, you have to learn your matchups.

Stop with all those and play any assassin.

If you like AP I suggest Diana Fizz Leblanc Katarina

Assassins are fine, but a lot of them are vulnerable early on and if you get behind it's hard to scale back into a game.

The one exception to this rule is yasuo, once he hits 100% Crit and you build a Frozen Mallet, you're good to go with him. But I would practice with him a lot before trying him out in ranked.

Personally, I think Ziggs and Orianna are really good for this. You can play very safe with them in lane, contribute a lot in team fights, but more importantly you have excellent wave clear and are a major threat to turrets. So pushing early turrets is very easy with these characters. Controlling territory on the map is often overlooked in lower elo's, but provides a huge advantage to your team.

I recommend Xerath for a few reasons.

  1. If you get the hang of his passive, you can actually skip mana items, letting you get an earlier power spike on your opponents.
  2. With item 3285 first item you can half health most squishies in the game with a single Q.
  3. Good burst with his E-W-Q combo (something a Veigar player can appreciate). Most low elo players will run away if you get them low, which then opens you up to finishing them off from safety with your R.
  4. Great waveclear for stalling out games and giving your team a second chance in the game.
  5. Fantastic ultimate range! Particularly at level 16. In lower ranks teams tend to start teamfights without all the team there, which can lead to disaster. Xerath's Ultimate you're pretty much always able to contribute to the teamfight, even if you're half a map away.
  6. According to League of Graphs he's got a 3.1% popularity for Bronze+, making him the 110th most popular champion in the game! Why is that good? Because he's never seen he's both never banned and your opponents don't have a clue what his kit does or how to play against him.

Well, I tend to build item 3040 for the shield and 140+ AP on a single item (it's ridiculous gold efficiency) on most mages. Xerath is a great pick; I would have to practice him because my games with him are pretty bad.

I'm not a mid-laner, but I'd consider Ahri. Safe, decent laning phase, but mostly importantly, great roams. You can take great advantage of your opponents' lack of awareness and quickly snowball the game.

Also, she's pretty much always relevant. I can't remember the last time she was actually "bad".

Just spam down annie since it takes the least amount of skill and can be very rewarding to play.Annie
