Riot does not play Ranked. Simple as that.
Riot is a room full of casuals who cannot climb over Gold(and under) and see absolutely no point of any competitive and reasonable game changes.
This is why we see Plat 1s having Gold 4s in their rounds. This is why we have Diamond Promos and you have Gold 3 junglers. This is why we have Dynamic Queue and DQ Legal Boosting service.
These changes are made by non-competitive casual players like most of Riot's Employees.
Croanin2 votesI think Riot just saw Overwatch coming and felt the need to shake things up. A game with a competitive scene though, I feel it's always worse when you cater to the lowest denominator.
What urks me is I don't think Dynamic Queue was an awful idea, it's more so that it's an idea that should have been implemented after Riot actually tried to improve their Solo Queue system. DoTA2 is known for dealing with trolls and afks way better and Riot has yet to implement anything to improve the spirit of competition.
