But aren't the trinity users balanced around it already and other champs that consider it are likely to become too strong if you have buff it?

This is not a Vayne 3 AD nerf. This is a 100+ damage on trinity sheen proc nerf. You are reducing trinity sheen procs by 100% of base AD doing this and meddler clearly knows this is happening and says something to the effect of the title as the reasoning for it being done.

This is a targeted nerf only at trinity users since everything else in the game is total AD or bonus AD based. This is even a buff for bonus AD champs But trinity users are mostly total AD not bonus AD.

I just find this is a case of it ain't broke so we are going to break it to try and fix it again.

But not many will notice since that spear looks like league of cleavers 2.0. Riven, Talon and a few others will be OP, get nerfed and then the item will be balanced and those champs will be trashed for 3+ months. Calling it now.

The IE change I can at least to some degree see where you are going with that but this Sterak's change just seems like you want to remove a few champs from being good picks or straight up remove something kinda comparable to marksmen's multiplicative scaling with crits.
