Are you EVER going to make Sona playable again?
OK, Riot. We get it. Sona is problematic to balance because her simplicity makes her very binary- it's far too easy for her to be overpowered or underpowered with just a few poorly-judged buffs. But that doesn't mean you should just give up does it?
The current problem is very, very simple: her W is worthless. I'm serious, you overnerfed it beyond a joke. At rank 1 it heals for 30-45 HP, on a 10 second CD, with -and this is the important part- a mana cost of 80. Eighty. On a champion with 341 base mana who only gains 32 per level and has a regen of only 9 per 5 scaling at 0.3 per level. Even if it heals both her and her lanemate together, that's charging gold bullion for a band-aid, and no the shield does NOT make up for it. It costs more than Nami's Ebb and Flow at the same rank, heals less (even taking into account Ebb & Flow's reduced effect on each bounce), and doesn't even have the advantage of doing damage! Yes, it's passable in the late game when you're healing and shielding the entire team, but she's so worthless in lane because of it that you'll never GET there.
It's not like she's even any good at anything else any more! Her lane poke has been toned down so much she's practically flicking spitwads at the opponent (and her damage is irrelevant late game), she still gets utterly murdered by any engage support (like Thresh, Blitz, Nautilus or <-shudder> Leona), Song of Celerity is piss-weak and, let's face it, Crescendo is NOT a good enough reason to pick her on its own any more. But saying you hate excessive lane sustain and then nerfing her down to be almost completely incapable of effectively sustaining at all is just not funny. She's the only support in the game I consider it necessary to get a friggin' Tear of the Goddess on because her mana costs are just so appalling that she's practically unplayable without it.
What it ultimately comes down to is this: why would I ever want to play Sona when I can play Nami instead? Well? I can wait.
