Did some pro say something and thus "NO NASHORS EVER!" was instituted or something? Even if the on-hit effect doesn't proc on his Sand Soldiers, it's still extremely good on Azir in terms of all the stats it gives him.

anyways I play azir, and as someone else said, you wont get more than one or two autoatacks with soldiers anyways, and I fyou are into pushing towers...just level your W first instead (if you didn't know, you can use your summon soildier charges directly on towers and they get dmgd instead) you can rek towers pretty fast on your own like that but azir is more of a surprise sand soldier dashed up your butt rather than sustained dps
tldr : Nashors is a wasted item on him , go morellos because you will utilize all its stats

majulito2 votesnashors tooth gives 20 less ap, the same cdr and a passive that azir probably wont be using as opposed to a morellos for 800 more gold and doesnt give mana regen so you can use your spells which is a big thing since chalice regen got hit and blue doesn't last as long. Also most azir are more focused on burst not dps so the attack speed isn't seen as useful.

SH Azykan1 votesIt is good if you can get off 3-4 extra attacks with the attack speed. due to how mobile the game is atm that is extremely hard to do without a good setup CC. Right now it is better to focus on Q's damage with expecting the soldiers only getting off 1-2 autos. So you get to the 40% cdr cap and get as much AP as possible to get that consistent high damage.
It is a viable item but generally not optimal. You need the CC setup on your team to get off more autos with it or you are focusing on dropping towers insanely fast (and even then it is better as like your 4th item)
Cale0171 votesBecause his soldiers don't benefit from the bonus damage the way he does. Their auto attacks don't count as his, they happen in place of his. There's a difference. You shouldn't be in close enough range to be using your own auto attacks at any point outside of the laning phase, so a Nashor's Tooth is not as helpful as you think it would be.
