Tank Yasuo is Cancer

I'm wondering when riot is going to decide to nerf tank yasuo. It's getting extremely old dealing with it in matches. Either a champion is a tank that doesn't do a whole lot of damage or they are more squishy and do more damage. not Both Yasuo

Yasuo is Cancer

fixed it for you

The entire game is a giant unbalanced mess where everyone is forced to play high damage busrt champions, or hypertanks. Honestly the entire game needs to be overhauled to fix it.

Super secret easy way to fix it: A champions defined role determines items usability. Tanks gain more HP/armour/MR from items, like... 5% more, and assassins/mages/defined squishies get 10% less, and then apply this concept to every single item type, mages get more mana from items, ADC's get less, etc etc etc.

bill8414 votes

Wait but wouldn't this destroy balanced off-builds? like if someone wanted to go AP Kog but you said that he would get less value from ap items as a marksman, wouldn't that just further destroy the build of AP Kog?

JESUSSAYSNO2 votes

off builds are the reason why tank assassins are a thing. Build locking is the only way to balance the game really.

bill842 votes

Not really. You cannot say that off building in itself is unbalanced, but when assassins abuse items like item 3025 item 3078 or item 3068 to do more damage, that is a problem. Another big problem is the keystones which give so much extra damage that they don't even need to build damage anymore and they can still kill squishies. Damage just needs to be reduced all around. A tri-force should not be the only item that someone needs to kill a squishy, you should actually have to build in order to do that, Off builds in general are not the problem.

Another problem with taking out off builds is because they are one of the things that makes league so fun for a lot of people. There is not just a set way to play each champ, you can build differently which will lead to different playstyles and different ways to play the game.

Dengeden2 votes

They only do "more damage" with those builds because they have no choice but to go tanky. Their squishy builds simply aren't powerful enough to 100-0 you half the time thanks to all their nerfs and all the added safety in itemization and champion reworks.

A triforce has been enough to kill a squishy since Irelia Hecarim, ffs. Heck DrMundo doesn't need any damage items to kill a squishy. But sure, "damage creep".

Zaghyr3 votes

I've thought about this idea too, and it might match nicely with the Role overhaul.

I agree with you. There's plenty of tanks or tanky champs who deal quite a large amount of damage Darius Illaoi Nasus Skarner DrMundo Garen Chogath Gnar Sion Swain Gragas Zac Vladimir Maokai Kled

Fighters who usually build semi-tanky Irelia Jax JarvanIV XinZhao LeeSin MasterYi Renekton Pantheon Shyvana MonkeyKing Vi

Dont know why people have to constantly point out that just because a tanky champ can take a lot of damage that they are allowed to deal significant-large damage (depending on build/champ of course)

Velzard of Koz7 votes

But why is Garen listed here? Juggernauts trade off their Mobility. It's not like he could use his Q and be at your face one way or another. And silence you so that you can't escape the hug of soloE-shredder. Kappaccino.

EDIT: You can list there also basically any Battle Mage since they are like AP Mage version of Fighters, requiring nearly tons of HP and some defensivity to survive while still maintaining damage since they're not as tanky as tanks.

dominusx2 votes

not like these items exist item 3742 item 3009 item 3071 item 2053 right?

jaycer9713 votes

First of all, yasuo is not an assasin, his primary role is Fighter. There is no rule that he HAS TO build only full damage. With full ad he is very squishy, and die in teamfights very easily. That's why people decided to build more tanky items on him.

Yasuo need a lot of money to become more tanky. 3.7k on triforce, then you need mallet, boots and then you go tank items. That's a lot of gold. And only thing that makes yasuo useful with that tanky build is Fervor of battle. Blame the broken keystone not champion himself. When yas was designed there were other masteries.

First of all, yasuo is not an assasin, his primary role is Fighter.

He's Slayer Skirmisher, the same class as Slayer Assasin just another subclass.

EDIT: Don't know why's this downvoted when it's true, Riot is bringing new classes and subclasses. http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/game-updates/gameplay/dev-blog-classes-subclasses

I quote:

Slayers are fragile but agile damage-focused melee champions that look to swiftly take down their targets.

...

Unlike Assassins, Skirmishers aim to shred through any nearby enemy that approaches. Because Skirmishers lack high-end burst damage or reliable ways of closing in on high-priority targets, they are instead armed with situationally powerful defensive tools to survive in the fray, along with extreme sustained damage to cut down even the most durable targets.

AKA Fiora's invul and Yasuo's Windwall

Darius Illaoi Mordekaiser Nasus we dem tanky AND hard hitting bois

mrnm38 votes

lets see darius? no mobility whatsoever illaoi? no mobility whatsoever mordekaiser? no mobility whatsoever nasus? no mobility whatsoever these champions are juggernauts. the thing in their kits is that they trade off mobility and cc for damage. Yasuo ? this guy is not a juggernaut. he has heaps of mobility, deals damage and is tanky. although he lacks cc just like juggernauts. This champion is currently a darius with a dash.

Count Zubat10 votes

Well, it's not like Yasuo doesn't have any CC, he has his knock up, which, while it doesn't last as long as, let's say, Cho's knock up, can be used either as ranged CC or targeted CC.

AFK Push2 votes

I also would like to point out that Nasus W is very good cc against a lot of champs, and Darius does have his pull.

Mecha Incognito4 votes

It's pretty much because of that bonus armor penetration he gets from his ultimate, and because Sheen items are a little ridiculous.

Someone suggested before to change the bonus armor pen on Last Breath to apply only to critical strikes (heavily encouraging a critical strike build).

Either that OR make his bonus armor penetration duration scale with how many champions get caught in his ultimate (in a sort of similar way Fiora's Grand Challenge works, scaling with how many vital's were hit). That way, he could stand to lose a lot of damage in 1v1/1v2 situations, and only deal good consistent damage if he lands a really good ultimate.

Sir Yucko1 votes

Another trick would be to make so only Mana users can buy Mana items. Would eliminate all Sheen items from his repertoire.

Davarril1 votes

Then you're just restricting the way that people can play, which is not a good solution based on a SINGLE champion.

Sir Yucko1 votes

Riot does this all the time in other situations, this isn't Minecraft, there are tons of restrictions on how people can play. imo Sheen items should not be used by any non-mana users etc. They already do this with Melee only items etc.

In fact I believe all mana items should be inaccessible to non-mana users. This should make balancing items and champs easier overall in the future.

Davarril2 votes

Alright, i agree with you on that front.

Well I mean Susan has a slow, up to 99%. He also has a poke with his E, so he really isn't completely immobile. I will grant you this: he is not mobile compared to Yasuo.

None of those things are mobility.

I hate it when people play him, when they are in my team they feed their ass off, when they are in enemy team they go legendary

Pretty sure tank ekko is more cancer - infinite slows and speedups

TheKoreanTwink1 votes

He's pretty easily countered by cc though.

SpecterVonBaren2 votes

As is.... everyone else in the game except for Olaf?

KingPontus2 votes

yeah but that is the problem they nerfed ekko's ability to be super tanky so why not nerf yasuo's abilityto be tanky?

TehNACHO4 votes

Either a champion is a tank that doesn't do a whole lot of damage or they are more squishy and do more damage.

I'm seriously starting to question why this is such a strong and common belief among players that complain a lot.

BradoxTTV5 votes

this should be the trade off for being tanky tho, its kinda silly that you can get away with doing boat loads of damage and be un killable

Ralanr5 votes

Tanks still need to do damage though. Enough for people to say, "Oh shit, he hurts"

RISE Shlack1234 votes

But not levels of damage that give them hard carry potential. There's a definite line where a tank can be doing too much damage. Hence the problems with Tank Fizz, Tank Ekko, Tank Akali, and now Tank Yasuo. There will be more, trust me. Abusing tank items on assassin champions has become the new meta in ranked.

Ralanr4 votes
  1. That's a problem with those assassin champions and free damage in general. Nerfing tank items only hurts actual tanks.

  2. I agree shouldn't be hard carry potential, but still enough to make an ADC realize that face checking me is a really bad idea.

NineTailedMystic1 votes

Not really. Their threat should be lockdown, not damage. I find it incredibly dumb that they give tanks damage scaling with defensive stats. New Taric's is okay because it's loaded into his Passive which means he needs to burn a lot of mana and AA for quite some time, but when Voli builds straight health and half healths the mid laner with 1 bite, that is absurd.

Ralanr3 votes

Newsflash: Volibear is a juggernaut who is supposed to hurt.

NineTailedMystic1 votes

Juggernauts build damage with their tank stats. Garen needs AD, Darius needs AD, Illaoi needs AD. They are super bruisers. Voli does not build a single damage item.

DunkinNoobs2 votes

Most Volis don't, but they should. Get a Titanic Hydra at least.

Ralanr3 votes

Juggernauts have kits that are centered around being tanky, having little to no CC, and dealing heavy amounts of damage while lacking mobility and reach.

That's Volibear.

SpecterVonBaren2 votes

There's a difference between a tank that does decent damage while building tanky and an assassin that deals tons of damage while building tanky and having tons of mobility.

LaserDeathBlade4 votes

While I agree Tank Yasuo is pretty cancer, there are a few considerations

  1. Tanksuo relies on staying ahead of the power curve, if he falls behind he'll neither be tanky nor do damage hence the feedsuos that are always on your team in ranked.

  2. Not really related to Yasuo, but I don't understand the concept behind "tanks shouldn't do a lot of damage". The tradeoff as a tank is being melee, that's already a severe handicap. Some tanks have a ton of CC or some other mechanic so they don't do a ton of damage, but Tanks that rely on their damage to be relevant (Volibear, Shyvanna, Udyr, whatever) as intended.

Xeruon2 votes

Voli, Shyvana, and Udyr aren't tanks. They're Juggernauts, which is a subclass of fighters.

Who cares what they're called lol

They're durable front-liners that have some mechanic that makes them an actual threat instead of a sack of potatoes. Sometimes that mechanic is CC, sometimes it's damage.

Xeruon2 votes

Their job isn't the same as a tank's though.

GULAG 4 U3 votes

Well juggernauts aren't mobile. Shyvana and udyr are pretty mobile.

Count Zubat2 votes

Seriously, did you just say that champions who merely have ms buffs are mobile? While Udyr can become very sticky, he can still be kited, same with Shyvana, whose ms buff is worse than Udyr's and she doesn't even have reliable hard CC like Udyr (her ult is just a mess). Very mobile, especially when you compare it to a champion we're discussing about, who is pretty mobile... And by that I mean: whenever I play against Yasuo in lane, my eyes are going all over the place to keep track of him dashing through minions dozens of times because unfortunately people in low elo won't stop dashing through minions for some reason...

GULAG 4 U3 votes

She has her ult as mobility though, and yeah you don't run from an udyr, nobody can do that.
