@Riot: What are your likes/dislikes regarding Irelia?

What parts of her kit are "good gameplay" and "bad gameplay" in your eyes?

I'm not asking the community, as they don't have developer/designer/etc insight.

Here, in my opinion, is what's WRONG with Irelia.

Too much versatility leaves her with few weaknesses to exploit
Bad counterplay (passive CC resistance, true damage, stun, sustain, gap-closer, etc.)
Punishes you too hard for getting ahead in a duel
Tries to do too many things at once, and thus has to pay for it in below-par efficiency
Ultimate is a bad fit for her kit/thematics
Too much invisible power in some areas (i.e. sustain, CC resistance, toughness)

iirc riot at one point stated that irelia is what their personification of the perfect top laner would be but dont quote me but i am sure they feel this way because when irelia is strong they know its not because her kit is too strong just simply the meta appeals to her, but she does have a good bit of counters in lane that can be considered hard matchups and if your a good irelia you can win them pretty easily. Her true dmg is counterable, build hp its not %max hp her dmg is mostly autos, easily qss'able stun etc.

The issue is that outplaying her is tough because her kit has bad interactivity/outplayability/etc. Burst her? Get stunned. Trade with her? She sustains and deals true damage, so it's uphill. Push her? She ults and kills your entire wave while also sustaining.

I think the main issue is that playing against Irelia is always felt as a painintheass.

Irelia kinda struggles against really heavy tanks like all top lane carries. Pick darius into her if shes smart she won't even trade pre rageblade as she will lose. Also malphite trundle poppy all of what is meta atm practically counters her in some way.

That's binary, which Riot hates. Why should any Champion be forced to turtle as their ONLY option against certain opponents?

You aren't getting it lol she doesn't get that strong till her first item spike or if she kills you which shouldn't happen if your playing super safe. You don't pick a top lane graves into a triple adc comp so why would you pick like a gp into irelia if your going to get stomped?

That's one of the problems. She has too damn much, and since she lacks any real weakspots she has to be weaker overall.

Dislike: How the hell do you peel from this thing, when she's so tanky yet 100-0's your ADC in seconds?

Don't get me wrong here, there are plenty of toplaners that also fit this description. But in the end, she is still one of the most difficult things to peel from.
