How to play gangplank?

So I got as his kit looks fun but useful. though being VS and in my first games it didn't end well got me as I either got harassed or poked like no tomorrow or deleted by that vayne who does 1K damage every 1st AA(not the third. just 1 attack) I couldnt really tell if I was doing good or not as I was either A:ulted by a and ganked every 2-3 minutes the whole game(I was ulted like 6 times '-' and by then the laning phase was ending so....I was just aimed at all game) B:countered by something like kled or C:was doing good but miss armor pen in the corner decides to 2 shot me all of late game

ok here's my real comment, barrels are your best friends... max them first or max your oranges, as long as your not silenced your oranges remove basically ALL types of CC and your barrels can delete people if you build GP right... barrels detonate other barrels regardless of how many ticks on their bar they have... his q can do a lot of damage if you build right... search up magikarpusedfly's spotlight on him... he did a better job than I will

Watch Tobias Fate and learn from the master. But for real just look up his videos on GP they are really good.

Considering that Tobias Fate feeds all the time or stomps hard - bad advice. You won't learn that much. The champion is good in the right matchup.

Oh yea I totally agree. I did not say to watch his live streams because most of the time he is trolling or tilted. Youtube guides/videos where he takes it seriously are great.

if you go up against kled then poke until he loses skaarl then go all in... skaarl is kled's lifeline, lose him and kled's a goner

I'm not a gangplank player but I do know some starting tactics for him when laning(at least i hope i do lol)

Anyway item stituations are:

item 1056 starting item if you want a safe lane phase, it gives you everything you need. Mana sustain, Ap so that your oranges heal more and some health to be a bit beefy early on.

item 3303 I've seen gangplanks take this item for a more Bankplank approach, this allows you to rack up some gold quicker but doesn't give you as much benefit to lane sustain compared to doran's ring.

item 1027 starting this item allows you to rush sheen quicker and therefore allows you to reach your power spikes quicker, its a more aggro start and doesn't offer much early on but it can pay off in farm lanes.
