Placements and you: HOW TO!

SO: A lot of people seem to freak out about placement matches and get a lot of stress. Here's some tips from my own personal experiences throughout placement matches in ranked:

  • Play a few a day - Nothing says burnout like playing 10 matches back to back. Pace yourself, and make it a point to take a break.
  • If you tilt, take a break - Tilting can become a quicksand under your feet if you have a bad match. Losing gracefully is better than telling your whole team off before leaving and re-queuing into some of the same teammates.
  • Have 2 comfortable roles. Period. - There is NO excuse now to not main at least 2 roles with the new queue. That being said, you don't have to be a god-level on the secondary, just have it up your sleeve in case you need it!
  • Queue with friends - Another helpful bit from the new queue is that you can queue with up to a full team now. ABUSE IT. If you play well in groups, chances are it'll pay off to play with friends.
  • Respect thy enemy - BM isn't fun on either side, and it's prone to cause a tilt. Play seriously, and to your best. There should be no reason to BM through placements.
  • Dodges aren't the worst now - I tried to dodge a match due to a Singed mid lane. I would've rather lost it through a dodge than deal with that, so I waited to see if I got a "loss". Not a loss, but queue dodge for series' sake dodge, and no repercussions!

And Lastly...

  • DON'T WORRY ABOUT YOUR PLACEMENT! - Chances are if you lose a division or get bumped down any, you can make it back up! It shouldn't be too hard. However, wait until placements are all done and the ranked-rush calms a bit. There shouldn't be anything holding you back!

Just some friendly advice I thought I'd offer. :) I'm currently 7/2 myself following these principles, so maybe they'll help you too! Also used theese last season when everyone said that people would be guaranteed demoted, but I actually placed above where I finished. I went 8/2 in my placements, and placed gold 3 (finished the previous season in gold 4.)

Don't forget to add that if your bowels are full, it's a good idea to evacuate them before a game*[slayer-jinx-wink]*

Also adding that I've tried queue dodging for my last match (singed mid, NO THANKS) and I faced no loss or "Loss" for the sake of the series!
