Why do 0 seconds in champion select sometimes last up to 3-4 seconds?

As the title says. Why? I feel like people are given extra time for some reason. [sg-lux-2]

It's mostly psychological thing. If they gave the three seconds visibly people would still find reason to wait for the last second. This way they get the feel of urge from the countdown while it is still generous to them so there isn't too much dodges.

Especially for players who play a lot of things, think strategy through and adjust their Runepage on the go. I don't think there is so many such people, but for example, Bjergsen seems to always mostly focus on picks and still has many last-second lock-ins. Because he tends to just decide what to pick at the last moment, either based on enemy team or what he wants to practise, then he adjusts the Runepage.

Latency and lag guys. The person HAS already banned someone, the game is just taking a while to register everything, so the timmer will stay at zero while the client is doing everything. But as long as you ban someone before the timer hist zero on YOUR screen, the game won't boot you out, even if it takes a few extra seconds to load your choice in.

I think they literally are. When the timer hits zero and you wait one second to lock in, it still works usually. Probably so players don't accidentally dodge, which would be frustrating for everyone in the lobby.

Meanwhile, you can't edit your rune page or summoner spells during the last 3-4 seconds of the draft...
