Overkill tryharding in Normals

If there even exists such a term. I played a match with a Master Yi in which we had a newbie Vel'Koz. Sure, he went top instead of mid at first, then fed, had wrong runes and Ghost and Heal for summoner spells. It was obvious Vel'Koz was still learning. But Yi, with all his toxicity, said "Report Vel'Koz for trolling and feeding". I said "He's a newbie, he needs to learn", to which Yi's response was:

"And?"

Like seriously? How salty can you be? Or did you forget you were the same when you started playing LoL? Wake up, you're not in the LCS and whether you gonna win or not doesn't matter at all. Why in the three hells would you report a newbie? Words just can't begin to describe my shock and disbelief.

Edit: Just to clarify - it was blind pick, not draft. Edit 2: Both Master Yi and Vel'Koz were on my team. Edit 3: The match in question is here. Pyke (42BG) was my premade and support.

don't blame yi. this game is way too competitive because riot wants you to "play to win". no one wants to be the loser. so sadly you can't even try champs in normals.

If that was blind pick, I think it's fine that he went top accidentally when no one else wanted to go middle. If it was draft though, then Yi has every right to be upset with Vel'koz assuming everyone else was going to do their team slot.

I would suggest you don't play Blind Pick. It's chaotic and irritating.

Yi is right a bit. Why? The last like 5 of the scenarios you describe are me wondering why the premades never go on a lane, and never seem to teach each other. A guy in his Level 40s brings in his noob friend and then let that friend lose us the game. They are not on a lane, I do not see the noob friend - a jungler - ganking his friends lane to get some sort of advice of DOs and DON'Ts via voice chat, he has 0 vision score and after noting that, he still does not place wards the whole game. Nothing. Literally retarded noob beginner trolls. I am so very sick of that shit it's unbelievable. Being new and a total spazz are to different things. I can't remember in the past couple of weeks when a feeder "beginner" was any sort of "Humble", and asked and accepted advice. It's just trash and literally the "you lose" card, because the noobs premade friend can't nearly compensate for the friends suckage.

I should really collect screenshots to confront people like OP with the vast majority of toxic beginners and then he might understand where Yi is coming from.

It's just dead weight. And then? The low level guy is "Repport far toxicity" (being 0/11/2 like that Nocturne last week) and the friend is "STFU you toxic **** she is new". It was a guy playing with her girlfriend, both toxic as hell, and literally just spazzing out. Fuck these "new players" in my game when we are all Level 50+ and suddenly this retarded "matchmaking" gets me some feedertard and his friend in the game. That massively tilts you.

EDIT: I played bot games for ages to avoid that. It's just courtesy imo. Also, where is Vel Koz' friend? To teach him about his outdated beginner/starter summoner skills? Or the wrong keystones/runes? The game even puts you a tooltip that you can (and have to) freely change them. What more can we or the game do when the noob player does not react to a huge ass speech bubble and a flashing button in the champ select?

I feel like you were the newbies friend. It's always like that.

I have never played a ranked game in 8 seasons. I am the ultimate definition of casual. I am still TERRIBLE! But I enjoy the game as a super casual player. I always tell flamers, "Look, if you got matched with me, my MMR is in the bottom 1%, literally. If you are playing with or against me, that means that you are only by margin of error +5% in that measurement. Which means, that either everyone here sucks just the same, or you're on a smurf, in which case I have no sympathy for you." Enough said. Stop taking yourself so seriously and/or overestimating your skills. You're not good, and you will never make one penny playing video games. Just stop. Relegate yourself to having fun with the game, the way games were originally intended.
