Am I the only one who struggled hard to adjust to this season?

I am not an amazing player but I've been gold for three straight seasons. Last season I could've made it to plat but stopped playing ranked games at the end of the season. This season I simply couldn't adjust to the ever changing meta, the snowbally games and to the fact that alot of my picks were either in a bad spot or just decent (mostly ranged mages). I played like shit and it has made me extremely toxic at times. Now I'm stuck in gold 5 and it seems every time I win 5 in a row, I start losing 10 in a row after losing my promos.

I have myself to blame but in the season of which bot lane wins, wins the game (atleast what people say) I've had the worst luck with my top laners. Feeding hard against, Cho'Gath, Jax, Riven, Darius, Nasus and making them snowball so hard that it's almost impossible to get back into the game.

I played way too many champs instead of concentrating on my mains but I simply couldn't figure a way to win this season.

Anyone is in the same boat or it's just me?

... Me too my MMR is high silver right now. It makes it even harder to win. I figured why not learn Katarina and Cass and for some reason it has worked for a while and now all I do is lose with them. Them assassin ADCs, them extremely tanky tanks (makes burst mages useless), them shield/healing supports... Everything seems to be made to tilt me right now. Even when I mute everyone, don't say a word and just try to be positive it mostly turns to shit.

Lately it has been fine, but good god it was a nightmare to play Ranked when the lethality buffs were introduced, sicne I don't play any Champion who correctly abuses them and as soon as a team began getting a lead, there was no going back.

i was in plat 5 last season but tbh i was probably mid plat at least. this season i struggled alot but i did take half a year off this game. i struggled earlier in the season where i legit felt like i was playing with and against diamond players plus i was really rusty. i got stuck in gold 3-4 for like a month on my support only account but after i changed champions i got to plat 4. on this account i have always stayed at g2 0 lp but i decided to push it further and i am now plat 4 and most games are still fairly easy to me so i should rise if i keep playing. i think you should be able to get out of g5 if you are higher than a gold player. however you cant just do it on any champion unless you are actually high plat or diamond+. figure out which champion you can 1 v 9 with from your role and stick to it until youre g3 and the crappy golds are filtered out.

I struggle hard to adjust every season. I hover in mid silver until world's patch and then climb to plat in 2-3 weeks when they finally stop fucking with things constantly.

Adaptability is a skill in League, and people who are better at adapting will climb throughout the season. If you're like me, you spend most of a patch adjusting to changes and get settled just as Riot table-flips balance with the next patch.

My advice is to go mid with a champ that 1) can influence bot or top (eg Ziggs, Galio), and 2) has fallback utility to support your fed teammate or help you stay useful if you lose lane (eg Brand, Malz, Zyra, Kayle, Liss, Lux, Ziggs, Anivia, Veigar, Morg). Or go jungle if you're great at it.

The best way to win is to focus on your mains and understand your win conditions. Kat and Cass are not easy champs in that regard. Kat needs a team to capitalize on her kills since she's pretty trash at objectives. Cass needs a team to protect her long enough to dps. Champs like Malz, Heimer, and Ziggs can capitalize on their own kills by burning turrets. The other mages I mentioned can self peel or zone without any help from teammates, and they all bring some measure of dps or utility.

I preferred season 6 over season 7. I know jungle was really overturned last season but I miss the tradeoff between farming and ganking. If you farmed effectively you could be one of the if not the highest level in the game and really take control. But now with catch up xp that doesn't really matter plus with reduce jungle xp your never really going to be highest level. So now it just better to get other lanes ahead, which I am not great at. That and if 2 lanes win hard they snowball the game so much it gets really annoying.

I have never been a mechnically good player and I feel this season helps those players who win hard or lose hard > just consistent players who focus more on Macro game. Its harder to get games to mid or late game and therefore more beneficial to able to snowball early, which I am not the best at. In the end my rank is about the same but I have played a lot less this season and really have no desire to try and climb. After 1-2 games I just don't want to play anymore.
