Can we make some AP items less awkward to build?

Mainly Deathcap, Void Staff, and Liandries.

Now I don't know the math behind item efficiency, and I'm sure someone could explain it to me and give me a better build for these items. But what I do know is that these items feel like a chore to build.

Liandries inself has what, a 1600 gold component item? Think that might be too much?

Void staff is a large rod (not needlessly large) and an amplifying tomb which are just two stat boosting items that don't really provide any interesting abilities. Not saying it needs a component item that gives a weaker void staff passive, but maybe something I can build strategically for a rush instead of "I got more flat AP. Don't worry, I'll get scary with another flat AP item"

Then there's death cap, the item built by two stat sticks and a book. Now granted since the passive is literally more power I don't see a problem with it being built from AP only items. But maybe something could be done to make it less of a chore?

Did you confuse Liandiries for Luden's? Cause i find one of the bigest strengths of Liandires is it's great builtpath. hauntingguys gives you about all you want from it early for just 1500, and after that you have 850 for the wand and 750 for finish. You never have to sit on a big pile of gold, never need more than 2 item slots and you get most of what you want from it from the components already, U can hardly think of any item with a better builtpath.

Now on the other two, i totally agree, and luden's if you ment that also is not in a great apot, they all force you to sit on a lot of money quite often, and Rabas even needs 3 inventory slots or you sit on even more gold to finish. Void could easily get built from two blasting wands, that way it would atleast give the full ap from components already and you wouldn't have to sit on 1365g to finish it Rabas could use a small cost reduction anyway(100g-300g), and building from two large rods would atleast make it better to built as a late item as you just need two inventory slots for all components.

Liandry's Torment has a perfectly fine build path, IMO. Amp + Ruby + Gold isn't too big of a request for Haunting Guise, and you can easily get it first back like it was a B.F. Sword (If you even WANTED to get it first back, tho HG early is actually good value, considering how useful flat pen is early...).

I think Liandry's main problem is that it needs to be a little cheaper or give better stats.

Personally, I'd bump up the AP from +80 to +90 and make the Magic Pen +20 instead of +15 (HG remains +15). Since flat Magic Pen. is really rare, I think having sources of it give a bit more compared to Lethality is fair.

Then flat magic pen should also scale with levels..

Not a terrible idea, actually. Flat M. Pen definitely needs a little bit of help these days and some numbers buffs would be a nice starting point.

I dislike getting Needlessly large Rod for deathcap, only to find myself needing void staff because people started stacking MR. Really horrible build paths

Don't buy rod first then. Buy smaller one and the book and plan your build out.

Maybe a new around 1300g item that makes it impossible for ad's to kill ap's

Just like hexdrinker, but then... the other way around

The new stopwatch would be great (since it builds into Zhonyas) if it was multiple use and not available to ADs.

I think Void Staff and Liandrys are fine, but Deathcap should probably not be less effective as 4th or 5th item than item 3135 + item 1058 like 95% of the time

DeadUnborn1 votes

I think the hex-tech line excluding gun blade is more problematic tbh

PrinceOfStorms1 votes

Wait why would protobelt and GLP be an issue? Basically no one builds either.

DeadUnborn1 votes

exactly, the issue is that their build paths are terrible son unless the champion synergizes extremely well with the item, no one buys them

PrinceOfStorms1 votes

Make them 100 AP items, or give them Gunblade's spell vamp and I guarantee you that people will buy them again.

They could at least remove the item 1052 from item 3089 and replace it with another item 1026 and reduce the combine cost.

Wimbledofy1 votes

that would be more ap than what rabadon's gives

Bârd3 votes

Since deathcap increases its own AP by 35%, it gives 162 AP.

That combination of items gives 140 AP.

Still far too much benefit for not having completed the item, though.

item 3116 RIP, vik, Azir

I hardly ever build Deathcap these days. There really isn't enough AP on other items to make it worth, and MPen is so much better. item 1026 item 1052 ftw

What do you want to receive?? Mana regen or CDR on half built item that disappears when item is fully built? Mages rush item 3165 anyways. After that, flat AP is all you need.
