What is the current State of the Game; Solo vs Pro in Riot's point of view?

What is the current thoughts on the state of the game when it comes from both Solo vs Pro play? What are some of the trending differences between the two? What are the similarities? I understand as new elements are added to the games (new effects on old champions/items, new champions, new items, and other balance changes occur) we tend to see shifts in play, however this season feels almost stagnant from a viewer perspective. Any reason for this?

They hard nerfed anyone with damage or cc that could outshine the adc, resulting in a tank/adc meta with mid lane relegated to roaming or split push champions, meaning the more wave clear the better. Finally they buffed baron to stupid heights which when combined with banner of command mean that ap champions are even less useful when trying to clear, while ad champions have free clear. This has lead to the wonder that is sion midlane, while top are playing carries that are, you guessed it, ad. Did I miss anything out?
