Do you often check players' stats before game?

If so, which site do you use to check it?

Write in comment which other site you use if you wish.

What's the reasoning for checking? Will the preconceived notions help with decision making in game?

Last games don't effect the current one at all. So no, I don't check. I find it appalling when someone else does. "Oh wow, your KDA with insert champion here is so bad. Watch you're gonna feed." Get off your high horse please.

I use Lolskill. I like how it gives you a score on the champ that isn't based entirely on win/loss.

No. I don't want to go into the game overestimating or underestimating my opponents.

I used to check, so I voted lolnexus. But I rarely check now. I found myself over-compensating after checking. However, it's been useful. I'm Silver V, so if I see I'm laning against a Gold V, I know to be a little careful. But I end up expecting too much and making stupid plays.

At the same time, sometimes I'll find that there's a Plat V on the enemy team. Then I know not to let them get fed (and they turn out to be boosted).

I use Carry.gg. You can see all sorts of stats that everyone has on the champions they're playing, and you can usually tell which lanes are gonna be an issue before the game even starts. If you see that your Vayne has a 4/9/8 KDA in their last 10 games and the enemy Draven has a 11/4/9 KDA in their last 10 games, you should probably camp that lane if you don't want a 5/0 Draven at 10 minutes.

I try not to because it usually just makes me nervous :/

Occasionally I check if I am confused on an enemy going AP or AD. But I don't really care about anything else, knowing information like that causes people to overestimate themselves or underestimate there team and causes bad gameplay habbits.

I use it to see their runes. I like to go into lane prepared for what kind of shit they are going to spew in my direction. And shout out to my boy the gem masterTaric

In a unfavorable match up, I would check my opponent's stats on LoL Nexus to decide how defensively I want to play.

If I see that player is highly experienced with this champion, I would most likely ask my Jungler for help. If I see that he or she is new to that champion, I would try to tough it out myself and maybe try some cheese tactic.

I've never seen the point in checking. I don't really care how well or poorly you've done in the past. All I want to know how you're going to do THIS game.

It's quite useful, especially when people are at their losing strike. "I am on a losing strike. I dun care anymore. So I am trying this champion in ranked.summoner 39 " or "I want to come back. Use my main.item 3031 " Make huge difference. Dodge for the first case!!Zoe

It's na.op.gg

NagaBomb4/20/2015, 3:44:40 PM1 votes

I don't see the point in checking. If you're checking to see if they have a higher ranked player that you don't want to feed, then would allow a lower ranked player to get fed if that was the case? Other players ranking shouldn't effect how you play the game.

Do you believe your current ranking accurately describes your performance? For most LoL players I would assume they think "No", which is why players try to climb into different tiers. If you feel like you are better than a Silver 5, let's say you actually play more closely to a Gold 5 ranking, then anyone assessing your ranking would have no valuable information. Same goes for you when you're checking theirs.

Lolskill.net lolnexus.com. this will show you whether your team will suck balls or do good.

Drunk Rummate4/20/2015, 4:34:48 PM1 votes

I check if they pick a high skill champ like Yasuo, Vayne, Zed, or Kalista

If it's less than 50% winrate on that specific champ then I generally dodge those players.

Stray Kat4/20/2015, 4:35:12 PM1 votes

I use Nexus before most games, but only for one reason - To check my lane opponent's and their jungler's runes. It gives me a good idea of how early trades might go. They're running AP runes on Zed by accident, with a jungler without tanky runes? I can probably score a double with Kayle at level 6 when the jungler ganks. The Zed has his AD/Arpen/MR runes, and the jungle is running 3/4 of a page of MR runes for some crazy reason? I probably need to play a little safer.

Other than that, I don't worry about what the stats say very much.

Clown Apocalypse4/20/2015, 4:57:10 PM1 votes

TBH I check the people on my team. I rarely check the opponents. I've dodged because people were on severe losing streaks or playing a character they were bad with or for the first time. I also check when people below me call roles so I can decide if I should let it make it that far or take it myself. It probably sounds like a real douche move to dodge because someone on your team hasn't been playing that well recently, but I would prefer not to take a hit to my already horrible MMR. If someone were to do the same thing to me in queue I feel like my history isn't THAT bad and they would generally have faith in me. Couple rough games but generally I do okay. You might check someone on your teams history and see they finished last game 0 and 15 with boots and a Mejais for items. lol.
