The problem isn't the kids that play. Its the fact that the skill curve doesn't allow for a great separation between kids and adults. Apparently a suck as kid and suck ass adult are relatively the same. Bronze 5 to silver 3 encompasses feeders, casual players, the inept, and people that don't know how to get the job done under an hour. ELO hell is being stuck with them. Yeah yeah I know... carry out of them. Seems like regardless where you are that sentence follows.

Let's see you are put with 9 players about your skill level and if you are better then them you are likely to do more positive things that increase your chance of wining

If you really deserve to be higher then you will likely win more then 50% of your games as you would be able to do better then the 9 other players Though of course you will lose games and it will take time to climb or to increase your skill level

That is horrible math and probability. That makes worse case scenario 5 v 1 and 4 scrubs. You lose. It is possible for someone to have this happen to the majority of their games while someone else almost never has it happen. There is 7 million people playing at peak most days. 47 percent of the community are casual gamers. Do you know how easy it is to get placed with 4 people that don't give a shit compared to you?Sure it is just as probable that there are 5 scrubs on the other team aswell. but that doesn't actually mean you have different odds than 50 that everyone else gets.

I think the theory behind it is that you have an even chance to have an enemy feeding as a teammate feeding. However, while that's true, you have to win more than half of your games to advance a tier, so it's worthless.

Some people don't even understand what 50% odds means. You can have 50% odds and lose 10 out of 10 games because the odds apply to each game individually not as a whole.

Ranked shouldn't be casual. If it is, all the casual players should be bronze 5 and 4. As it stands now, casual bleeds all the way into gold 5. I have seen high tier games where I had to look up the players to see what rank they were. It was atrocious.

I am a casual ranked player. So I am Silver IV and get match-ups in normals with all kinds of gold, maybe a plat once in a while. I am sure those poor silvers just hate to play with me in ranked, whenever I choose to do so.

I looked it up. You are not quite right. It can be defined as you did. (Although it never is about competitiveness and more about how seriously you approach something, but I assume that is what you meant.)

It can also mean "occasional" / " irregular" and this is how I understood it. Perhaps this is due to me not being from an english-speaking country and I simply missed something, that is obvious to you. Nevertheless my interpretation of casual does exist. To me it has nothing to do about how seriously I take a game and a lot with:

Time I have
Time my duo-partner has
Can both of us play lag-free?
Do we feel like it?

I would actually wager, that I take ranked games more seriously than some people do. At least I bothered to gain some real experience (and runes!) before playing ranked at all. I don't try out new champions or crazy builds in ranked. I don't afk during games. I make an effort to win. I don't troll ever. I don't flame my teammates (nor my opponents for that matter). I respect my teammates pick wishes, even if I am first pick. I communicate with my teammates during the game.

I always throw out fun cause I don't know anyone who plays despite it never being fun. So he is playing to test himself vs others. and to see where his skill level ranks against others. He does care. It is simply a matter of what degree. There has always been those that think they are too cool for school.

I don't think people that get paid to play video games get tired of it like you mean. They can always play a bunch of different games and spread the time around only playing when new champs come out. What ever they are now, they didn't stumble into PLAT.

I'm currently 16, and currently filling out the requirements to receive a driver's license. Even if I wasn't, though, I feel pretty competent in my games, and there are younger people than me who are better than me at this game. While I might not be Challenger or Master in the game, I feel Diamond is good ground for me to say that I don't match this stereotype of young feeders, trollers, and afk'ers, and I know quite a few other people, like me, who are young and do not troll around.

I've noticed that I get better teams if I play between the hours of 12am and 3pm. For some reason playing with adults offers a better game experience and less toxicity, I wonder why that is /sarc.

While i agree that young people tend to rage, feed, be imature or just str8 up douchebags more often, it feels unfair to forbid all 12 years olds because most of them rage and all that kind of stuff. I know 12 years olds who are more mature than highscool seniors.

i've played at almost any time. saturday at 4pm or wednesday at 3am and it doesn't really make a big difference for me personally. i've had really good days on a saturday in the middle of they day, and i've had bad days on tuesday in the early AM.
