Discussion on new Rylai's?

I feel like the health should have been left untouched. The 400 health part was fine, but the 100 AP and massive slows were not. The flat 20% might mean other champions that specifically revolved around it need rebalancing/retouching upon now though.

It got overnerfed, no mage is gonna buy that shit anymore, now its like a singed/dot champ only item.

To be fair, the 100 AP made Rylai's almost mandatory to get, because 400 health is massive, while 100 AP puts it at one of the highest AP items (I think only a high-stacked Mejai's and perhaps Archangel's Staff can outdo it) besides Rabadon's. Not even considering the slow.

And the whole point of the item in the first place was to be utility/durability.

It feels like if you compare the total amount of AP you could get in the game from S5 its much lower. Maybe not though.

instead of lowering the cost just make it give 600 hp and 50 ap.

with the slow nerf ofcourse. 35% is ridiculous even with ghost or speed ups you can't outrun spell chaining and is toxic

General opinion.

+Reduced Cost +Can get Slow utility earlier +Possibly in a supports budget. -HP and AP reduced by 1/4 -flat lined the Slow stats -Reduced slot efficiency

Predicted Effect.

With the reduction in slot efficiency, it's going to become more of a niche pickup. Meaning, your going to pick the item up for the slow, and not it's stats. And will be less likely to see in a core build anymore. On the other hand, the reduced cost makes getting the slow (though nerfed) is possible Earlier, built into more decisively, and possibly allow for some supports to buy it.

In general, Riot's direction with Rylais is very much akin to the changes to Hour glass. Anything with really good utility, get's its stats reduced, so that when people pick it up, they do so for the utility it gives them, not just because it fits into a core build.
