Is it too much to ask for Yasuo's windwall to actually have an accurate hitbox and cast time?

Astôlfo··130 votes·3,940 views

Like, if it actually blocked only the things that would hit it and not every other thing in a giant radius around it, that'd be great. Also, it'd be great if he couldn't just 'PANIC CLICK!' to immediately stop anything because it has no cast time and spawns from the center of Yasuo's model (if I remember correctly).

Yes, the windwall would still be frustrating as hell to deal with, but at least it would feel like I actually got somewhat outplayed if he had to use it accurately and time it correctly.

Yes, people say "bait it", which might work against a crappy Yasuo player. The issue is, with a good Yasuo player, unless you have multiple critical skillshots on your team that Yasuo would be forced to block separately, he just wouldn't use it until he saw the one key skillshot being used. And then he just impulse-clicks the wall randomly to instantly block it off from him and anyone else behind him.

Yes, I'm fine with Yasuo being an infuriating little goddamn shit to play against. Yes, I think crit-Yasuo (not tank Yasuo, fuck that cancer) is generally fine in terms of balance, even if he is, like I said, an infuriating little goddamn shit to play against. No, I would prefer if he couldn't just panic-click his windwall whenever to instantly block any projectile even if it's point-blank and would've hit his model except the windwall spawns from the center of his model with no delay or cast time that instantaneously blocks everything around him in every direction instead of the direction it got sent towards.

EDIT: Yay, people downvoting for no visible reason because they don't bother to actually reply and explain.

I agree.

If he sees an Ashe ult or some other projectile coming his way and he panics and windwalls the COMPLETE OPPOSITE direction of where the ult is coming from, he deserves to get hit by it, not destroy the projectile.

Sorry to shatter ur dreams and the fact you can't place the windwall in the right direction cuz you panicked

What do you mean? I see absolutely no problem here:

TBH he can cast windwall 90 degrees away from the incoming projectile and still block it at cast start, which is bullshit, because he didnt even aim it right

basically this

im even ok with his windwall being instant and resetting his auto attack, but fuck that hitbox

Astôlfo5 votes

I see nothing wrong with the windwall blocking it after it already hit him and passed through him.

I had never seen a yasuo block something directly behind him, so I never knew. The widest i had seen was about a 270 degree arc.

GULAG 4 U9 votes

As a person who defends yasuo from the salty Qqers, no it's not too much. This stops the bullshit where you don't have to aim windwall to block things, fix this please. I mean come on, this is barely a nerf anyways, it's only fair.

sdsdfdf5 votes

yes it is too much to ask for. no reason to nerf him atm

Astôlfo23 votes

It's a nerf I guess, but it should have been this way in the first place. If it's really that much of a problem, slight compensation buffs could work.

sdsdfdf1 votes

yasuos windwall should feel instant and fluid so i dont agree with you

Astôlfo19 votes

Except that's bad for game design, sooo…

sdsdfdf1 votes

except thats its not. yasuo should be able to instantly block any projectile with good reflexes, and his enemies should count on him blocking something with winwall. case closed

Astôlfo20 votes

mmk bud. Please don't bother starting a discussion if you have no actual points.

If the Yasuo has good reflexes, he'd still block just about any projectile with this perfectly reasonable change. This has nothing to do with good Yasuo players. It only punishes the shitty Yasuo players who can't time for shit and are only saved by the grace of instantaneous cast and ridiculously large and inaccurate hitboxes.

"case closed" PFFFFFFT

no man... look lets say it has a 0.4 seconds cast time. youre fighting a riven and only way for you to beat her is dodging a couple of her qs, and wind walling her ultimate. keep in mind theyre fighting in melee range. and riven starts casting her ult and yasuo has good reflexes and windwalls riven ult when it comes out, he outplayed her with good usage of the spell. but if it had the 0.35 cast time, hed literally have to windwall as she starts the animation, which is basically inhuman

TheDorkLord4205 votes

First off, if you're a Yasuo and can't duel a Riven in-lane, you have many other options than you HAVE to fight, but let's assume that you must fight this Riven, win or lose situation. The complaints here (So far as I have seen.) are that during the casting time of Wind Wall, it blocks all projectiles that would hit Yasuo, regardless of the direction it's cast. I don't think it's unreasonable for Wind Wall's cast to be something like Anivia's wall? It doesn't need a longer cast time, and it should still be able to block the Riven ultimate, just not the Nami wave from the side and Ezreal ult from the back too.

Squidward Dab25 votes

If he has good reflexes then he should also be able to place the windwall to where the projectile is coming from properly otherwise he should be punished for placing it in the wrong hitbox

SithesisLord11 votes

Well, to be fair, any change to make his windwall less frustrating to play around is a good change. And this is coming from a Kayle main.

Although, a patch that´d remove Yasuo would be one fucking godsend of a patch, but let´s not dive into the sodium here.

Kayle is kinda retarded like yas

Nami in Bush3 votes

If he panic throws it, it shouldnt be hard to outplay lmfao.

Astôlfo2 votes

Mm yep not like it instantaneously blocks everything around him in every direction letting him use it at CC fired at even point blank range because he doesn't have to know how to time it at all basically and blocks even things not hitting said windwall.

If it's a panic throw, then it isnt directed towards anything specific. Learn to vs Yasuo. Walk the fuck away when he throws it and wait for it to disappear.

Astôlfo2 votes

Um.

Except, you already threw said projectile. It can hit his model and go through him. And then he can windwall after that happens. In a completely different direction. And still block it.

You want to explain how the fuck Ez was meant to outplay that to me?

Chromatic Eagle1 votes

If he has an accurate hitbox, why would he need a cast time as well? I think most of the complaints about Windwall comes from not understanding which abilities are projectiles, and not knowing its hitbox.

Astôlfo10 votes

Because he can just panic-click his ult without having to actually bother timing it right at all and it will always save his ass because it instantaneously appears out of the center of his model, which prevents even the slightest chance of any projectile making it through.

Squidward Dab14 votes

If I throw a Lux q at him from his left and he decides to be a dumbass and throw his windwall to his right, he should be snared for not knowing how to place his windwall.

But right now he can have these bs moments where it's basically about to touch him, he windwalls to the opposite side of the projectile, and he gets to keep fighting cuz of the shitty hitbox of his windwall blocking my snare

Chromatic Eagle1 votes

I just said if he has an accurate hitbox. That means things like that shouldn't happen. I'm arguing why he should have a cast time, where he may not even be able to get a windwall at all before that q hits.

Astôlfo3 votes

Because he shouldn't be able to just panic-click and block point-blank CC.

DunkinNoobs1 votes

Considering that the wall is often used to block self peel at point blank range, yes, giving it a cast time would be too much to ask for.

I don't see why not. How else are you supposed to kill champs likeAhri Anivia Brand Heimerdinger Leblanc Morgana LuxAshe Tristana Varus Jhin Lulu Sona TwistedFate Vayne Xerath Zyra? Yasuo doesn't have blinks or untargetability or on demand hard CC or long range gap closers like most assassins or bruisers; you gotta give him something.

Astôlfo5 votes

Um.

By either, one, respecting their range and not standing fucking point blank, or two, dodging it with his 0.1 second cooldown dash through minions. If he neglected both, it's his fault and he deserves to get caught. And he shouldn't counter and crush every single champion in the game easy without actually taking skill because of his current flawed design windwall, bud. Sorry to crack your delusions.

No, he doesn't need to 'get anything' more. He has a passive shield that generates just by moving and attacking, doubled crit, no resources, extraordinarily low cooldowns, two different ways to knock up, a suspend/suppress, 50% armor shred, 0.1 second cooldown dash through each minion, and a windwall that blocks most of the abilities in this game. That's more than most champions have if you combined 2-3 of them.

Also his ult is a blink, you are incorrect. It also makes him untargetable for said duration, if I remember correctly.

You realize Yasuo needs to dash towards enemies to reach them right? That's how he does his damage, at melee range. You need to give a melee champion tools to deal with ranged champions when they try to disengage. How is Yasuo ever supposed to touch any of those champions if they can simply fire their CC directly in front of themselves whenever Yasuo tries to go in on them?

Also his ult is a blink, you are incorrect.** It also makes him untargetable for said duration, if I remember correctly.**

Dear god, I wish; that would be amazing. But no, I'm completely immobilized for 1 second, just like you; except you can remove the CC with a cleanse, mikaels, or QSS and can also reduce the cc duration by buying merc treads. I'm stuck there for 1 second no matter what.

Astôlfo2 votes

By being good enough to react fast enough, dodge with E, or predict and windwall first. Simple.

Except if you Cleanse/Mikael/QSS, you're not Airborne and Suspended, but you still will continuously take damage from said slashes unless you Flash away. And Merc Treads explicitly says it doesn't reduce the duration.

I like how you conveniently don't mention you deal massive damage and shred 50% armor while "stuck there".

  1. His ult is extremely weak for an ult, damage wise.

  2. You do realize you're basically saying "Dodge attacks by running directly at the opponent with your E", right? Because that's what E does. It runs you through enemies, meaning part of that dash you're running into that enemy before you pass through them. As far as mobility goes, this move is shit for defense. Fun side note: Yasuo's dash is the only dash in the game that's interruptible by hard cc.

Astôlfo2 votes
  1. Not in late game, damage wise. Early game is irrelevant since he was designed to be a late game carry as Crit Yasuo in the first place.

  2. Uh, let's just magically forget about minions. Or you know, playing smarter and respecting said range. And no, it's still incredibly useful to dodge non-targeted CC.

"playing smarter" ooop you found it! how about you apply it when you play vs yasuo and leave the champ alone hmm?

you cant say dodge with e on minions or w.e you dont know where the wave is positioned in lane and how the enemy player is positioning and moving, you're literally taking a new yasuo player's perspective here

he takes riskes every match up you just cant see that/not good enough to capitalize off of it i swear rito needs to make a special queue for some people so they can play a version of the game where its actually brain dead easy for them and they wouldnt have to struggle

Yes, he takes risks. Windwall neutralizes any chance of any projectile ever hitting him.

you get the armor buff after you slam the shitty player on the ground aside from that the the penetration only applies to runes/masteries/items so if your a squishy like lux or w/e it wouldn't make that big of a difference

"shred 50% armor while "stuck there" " ?? also the damage is not massive lmao compare that shit to a lux ult/zed ult with a basic combo or even anivia's frostbite or w/e its called(almost deals as much damage l0l)
