@Repertoir Can I get your current thought's about Talon's passive

I would like to know if there are any plans to give him something more meaningful. Ever since his last nerf there hasnt been any mention of him. If anything is the name of his E going to be changed because it doesnt fit the ability anymore.

Not repertoir but I agree that Talon's passive is pretty lackluster in both satisfaction and just how interesting it is compared to some of the stuff we can do now.

No plans for just a passive rework on him though as he is probably a champ that we would want to take on all at once. Build some more unique identity into the character, fix some of his one dimensional play, and create more clear opportunities for him outskilling his opponent and vice versa.

I am very happy to hear this, I love playing squishy and fast melee champions like Zed Yasuo with a lot of outplay potential. Talon only outplay potential currently is E timing to dodge an ability. He can utilize the Stealth on his R as well, but the outplay potential of that is small, especially when truesight comes in to play.

When can we expect a Talon rework? Within 6 months? within 12 months?

No timeline to give, we haven't started him yet. But when it comes to assassins Akali and Talon are probably our top 2 in terms of "could be so much cooler" with a rework.

We will let you know when we are working on him and what to expect.

Would the ult stay more or less the same? It's really the only ability that's really standout for me >_>

Can you change his E name pls, don't fit anymore...

please try to keep the assassin's creed feel with him when you do. I don't want him to end up with a kit that forces him to kill you in chunks over a long extended back and forth between you and your opponent.

The way I see it, talon's job is it jump in, slit everyone's throats, and walk home.

Hey, if Talon's on the table, I made a proposed talon rework thread a while back. Not expecting you to use my ideas, but there's a ton of conversation in the discussions that might be useful to you. Here's part 3; links to part 1 and 2 are in the OP.

Just got to know about this. As it's been said in other replies, there has been quite a few "fictional" reworks for Talon from players, from many regions, so you might find some good ideas over there. I find this quite a nice change, as Talon has suffered much since his silence removal. He can still burst champs to death, but he hasn't a backup plan as many other assassins do (Katarina's reset, Kha'zix jump reset, Ahri's 3 use ult, Ekko's ult, and a long etc), so it's not strange to find a Talon dead in the first second of the teamfight after having deleted someone (or at least tried to), where maybe a Katarina would be still jumping arond, or a Zed would have come back to his shadow. After seeing the reworks you've been doing to many champs, and how you have succeeded in making more unique champions, i trust you to make of Talon the deadly assassin he is supposed to be in a cool way.

I'd suggest to keep or even improve the stealth. Not as much as an Evelynn, but maybe something a bit more complex and rewarding that his current ultimate. Go for it! Improve my beloved Talon

Scruffy have you considering trying a sort of assassination contract type passive? where talon is rewarded for killing spefific targets and can gain extra gold or permanent stat increases

what everyone loves about talon is how he plays like a true assassin he kills his target any means necessary i feel like his passive should enforce that

When I asked Ezreal on his AMA page a few years ago about Talon's passive, he said Hephestopheles's intention with Talon's passive was to make his autoattacks mean something to his gameplay rather than just his spells. It isn't really a full success on that part, but that's what Heph's intentions were, and I doubt he is going to let his coworkers change that part of his champion without his permission (assuming he still works there.)

Talon was my first main and my favorite champion to play along with Zed. I never forget anything a Rioter says about either of them :D

Giving Talon a reason to auto attack a bit more's a solid goal for a passive on him. Very with you that it's not accomplishing that at present though, it's not core enough to his play pattern in terms of its contribution, his own ability to set it up or his capability to auto attack for an extended period.

As a side note Hephestopheles does indeed still work at Riot. Original developer intent's something we like to refer to since it can offer useful insights into how to improve a champion and we'll certainly tap Hephestopheles for his thoughts when doing work on Talon at some point. Working on a champion puts you in a great position to help maintain and develop them after they go out, it doesn't mean you continue to control everything about them based off your personal preferences though. Doing what's right for the character/game is the most important thing and means that if we grab Hephestopheles to chat about changing Talon his response is almost certainly going to be something along the lines of 'awesome, how can we make him better?'.

The problem i have with that is that aslong as you keep crit the way it is - there´s no use in sustained auto-attacking if you can just go for the huge IE-burstspike within 1-2attacks. And it always leads to very binary situations were a Champ kills a lot faster than he should do, leaving almost no reaction time for his opponent. You basically have a lot of good ideas and kits in the game, but most of them get thwarted by the current crit-mechanic, that adds a lot of burst to sth. that should be about sustained dmg (auto-attacking).

The problem with assassins auto attacking is they don't build attack speed, as there is no good AD+AS item. And auto attacking without attack speed with a full ad champ is like saying "cmon, take the kill already" Very often while playing Talon I find myself in a situation, where I try to assassinate an ADC, and my full combo doesn't kill them. So they use their heal, flash/gap opener, and kill me from full hp, without me being able to do anything, as all my skills are on cd.

Or we could leave him alone? (YAAY to that)

I'd rather risk change than keep playing gear check.

I only just saw this, why do you want change to a champion you dont even play?

Because I like the champion and leaving a skill called cutthroat that does nothing close to that makes no sense. Talon is cool and well I feel his gameplay should be more than Go in hit them with everything then either they die or they dont.

I rarely have time to play between work and school. As fun as Talon is I can't play him at a plat -diamond level which is pretty much all I get matched up with in normals and for ranked id rather just pick safe things.

BTW this is a month old.
