I have Qualms with Support in DQ

I play 2 roles: ADC and Support. Whenever I want to play DQ, I put ADC in the first slot and Support in the second, yet each and every time I queue, Support is automatically prioritized and it's like I never even selected ADC as the first option. The only time I'm ever able to play ADC if Support is among the roles I select is when I'm in a game with friends and they picked Support as their First. This can't be consistent with other roles.

I understand that Support is looked down upon as the short end of the stick. I get that. I sincerely play the role because it's necessary, not because I like it. I know I am a good support, and I know other players don't like playing it as much, so I bite the bullet, take one for the team, etc. But why is it that I'm never physically eligible to play ADC if I put Support in my second option slot? What is the deal, Riot?

It puts you in the Role that will get you in game the quickest.

Support is usually the one role Teams are waiting on to be filled.

Hope that explains it for you.

This is not a perk. It's a flaw. A horrible flaw that doesn't let me play other roles.

The other option is waiting potentially forever for the Role you want.

I mean, can't really have it both ways... the role you want and a super fast spot on a team, because some roles are way more contested than others.

Just explaining how it works, man.

This isn't good. Fill = Support because it gets filled fastest? Support 2nd pick option = Support because it gets filled fastest? I'm not trying to get faster queues. I'm trying to play adc. I'm not trying to even "avoid" playing support. I'm just trying to have the system REGARD the fact that I picked ADC as my first option rather than immediately filling me into the quickest spot available. "Playing sooner" in a role I'm not aiming for isn't improving my gaming experience. I also want solo queue back. I know Dynamic Queue creates an environment where players need to be good at 2 roles, but supports are literally pigeonholed into their role. This isn't fair at all.

I agree with OP, they SHOULD give us an option to at LEAST say "I'm willing to wait X amount of time for my primary" or else FORCE the system to put us in our primary a MINIMUM of 60% of the time no matter what the wait is (if you want SHORT wait, pick fill, if you want a ROLE pick the role, if you want both, the PLAYER should prioritize roles that are quicker).

I say this because as an adc main that WOULD choose secondary support if I got my PRIMARY choice a simple majority of the time, League is LOSING "optional support" players BECAUSE they don't get to play what they WANT with a reliable level of regularity.

Oh, I'm not saying it's not a good idea. But Riot already gets blasted for Wait Times as it is.

Imagine if people were complaining about huge wait times... only to find out they are holding out for the Primary when the Secondary is available.

It's why we have 2 Options, and why they won't give us 1 Role Option. Insane wait times.

But I'd be cool with it being Optional, as long as those choosing to wait longer don't complain about it on the forums all day, every day.

This was downvoted for no reason before anyone even read it or considered it being an issue. -.- Kick rocks dude. No. Kick an angry Malphite.

If you really want to play adc you can choose adc and mid...

The system needs to change. The fact is, if you put Support, you get support. This doesn't apply in any other role. You don't get support "sometimes" and "sometimes" your first option. Just because your role is in the highest demand due to the lowest popularity doesn't mean you should be physically STUCK with it if you put it as an option 100% of the time.

I mean if you put adc supp you are not going to get supp 10/10 times, and they cant change the system because they make you select two roles for a reason; to lower down q time. Support is a high demanding role, therefore you will get it most of the time. If you don't want to always play support, I think the best way is just change your role.

Support is fun, but sadly most of the community still doesn't find the effectiveness of a support could do. I am a diam support main pleb.

I just finished my 12th game in a row in DQ as support with ADC first/Support 2nd. Tell me this isn't consistent.

Edit: Nvm I miscounted but damn this is stupid!

Honestly it's a problem with the support role. If the role wasn't what it is this wouldn't really be a problem

Mid is almost the opposite but not quite. Mid + anything is almost always the anything.
