Yorick W should grant assists :( (Maybe a 0% slow?)

Hammermancer··69 votes·8,398 views

seriously yorick's wall doesn't give us assists and its sad, there have been times where i've done a flash wall to get my team the kill, but i dont get an assist for the flash burn....

One way i could see this working would be for it to give a 0% slow, or some other negligible debuff only within the wall.... (Not anything that directly affects the champion trapped within, just something that could grant assist through affecting them)

Maybe

It already grants assists for enemies inside the wall. However the wall needs to actually appear, if the target dies before it comes up you won't get the assist.

shielding an ally grants an assist.

tanking 4k damage does not if you don't return any damage or apply any sort of cc effect to help your ally secure a kill, since the enemy could just as easily just switch to your ally since you're not doing jack shit.

You sure about that? I don't think that's how it works.

Sire Hippington1 votes

Well, that is how it works, only direct damage to hp counts as assist, damage to shields doesn't.

GaleWinUnleashed2 votes

Try it if you like. If you get dived by a Yasuo, hit him once to pop his passive (but not enough to break through the shield), and then he dies to the turret, you don't get credit for the kill.

Can we get assists when TF's Ult is active and enemies are affected by the "Reveal" debuff?

Sire Hippington13 votes

That once was the case but was removed because he could just farm assists by pressing R as soon as someone was about to die.

Soraka

Not saying TF should get ult assists though.

Elikain5 votes

Soraka's ult no longer grants assists if your ally is at full HP and he kills a target. Karthus's ult also doesn't grant an assist if the target dies before his damage happens.

maikokk9 votes

someone being at full HP ever is such an edge case scenario it has almost no effect, she can push r to get free assists 99.9999999% of the time

Sire Hippington1 votes

The issue with soras ult is that it heals, haveing that no longer grant assists would be an exeption to an presistant rule and thus go against clearity. Though it's still annoying to have those assist bitch soras around, especially with meja's+tanky builts.

RocketRelm1 votes

Also since she's got Windspeaker's Blessing going, this ult heal ALSO gives the champion 10-20 ish resists.

Civet101 votes

A soraka being able to farm assists is very different from a TF farming assists, to be fair. Its much easier to 1 shot a soraka

Enloct4 votes

Noc used to have that too.

LoopKat1 votes

Surely they could do a proximity check to see how far away TF is and calculate the assist based on that (TF and target are within 30% of ult range of each other?). Or, at the very least, check if he started Gate and was teleporting to the target as they died.

With both of these, he'd at least need to be involved in the action or in the general area to get the assist.

Samflash31 votes

YES!!! Considering the high cooldown of the ult.

And there's the high chance that they're going to nerf him with the stealth change reveal mechanic of his ult.

deadlychuck1 votes

Might want to consider running into the wall too, i know i've blocked off full paths in the jungle with it, to assist in kills.

Or in common tongue, you're bronze IV.

Lol sorry I didn't want to but the urge was too much

La Barbotte1 votes

but even if its not ''in'', blocking a jungle path like anivia would is still assisting

Nebuul2 votes

The only issue with the current assist method is that it is not always best to encircle enemies. For example, some champs can dash out of the circle, but they cannot dash across it. Imo, any enemy that touches the wall or is encircled by it who subsequently dies should grant an assist.

GerAvos12 votes

Well, same thing could be said about anivia and taliyah walls.

President Swa1n2 votes

Anivia's wall does 1 true damage, don't know about Taliyah's

All Day Tay Tay3 votes

it gives a knockup if it hits the person while forming

President Swa1n1 votes

Oh, true, completely forgot about that

Frager10 votes

1 true damage would fix this. As i understand there are other spells doing 1 true damage just to give assist.

This also prevents turrets from completely ignoring them. Two birds, one stone.

A serial feeder2 votes

You forgot the part where you can steal baron and drag with anivia wall.

Ariel the Cruel1 votes

Anivia and Trundle. Not sure about Taliyah.

I mean, if using Soraka ult from halfway across the map to get a free assist is fine, then this should be good. The only real problem should be how to implement it, which you provided.

RisenDarkKnight3 votes

Yeah they recentlyish made it so People trapped inside veigar cage gave him assists, so the same should be done for Yorick.

doiminat0r36003 votes

Same thing was said about talyah and anivia a while back. But it's pointless to try. If it goes through, then soon people will ask for wards to give assists because "I SAW THEM I SHOULD GET ASSIST POINTS ON THAT" People have already asked for wards to give assists. We have to draw a line at damage or CC.

It Hertz When IP3 votes

Pretty sure stopping someone from leaving a tiny little area without flashing counts as a form of CC.

doiminat0r36003 votes

It doesnt by game code.

Wimbledofy2 votes

veigars E gives an assist even if it doesn't stun anyone.

doiminat0r36001 votes

No it doesnt.

AirKingNeo1 votes

Yes it does, it very much yes appears in Death recap even if you don't get stunned by it.

"Event Horizon, Status Effect"

doiminat0r36001 votes

Can you show me where this was changed?

AirKingNeo1 votes

Unsure, either was always or in some patch over 14 months ago.

RogueWill2 votes

It does, as someone that doesn't mind staying inside of the cage I can confirm this

But the wall is cc....

doiminat0r36001 votes

The wall is but normal champion made terrain is not CC. It's entrapment.

That could be a new type of CC. OOOOO

Challenging smite doesn't give assists either.

Livin like Riven1 votes

Challenging smite doesn't do damage unless you autoattack, and only reduces their damage to you, not your allies, so it's not doing anything to help anyone get a kill unless you auto them.
