poppy's experienced players don't even get to 50% winrate

currently anyone that plays poppy 125+ games. has a 49.5% winrate on her. nerf her damage but let us play her as a tank and revert the aa cancel and the two range nerfs on her E and passive. she isn't even listed as a jungler while she was supposed to be a jungler as well. don't give a champion too much plus sides and then nerf everything and make her clunky and awful to play. i played poppy once since the nerfs and i couldn't bring myself to do it again.

before you come here and start talking about lcs and stuff. first of all. before the nerfs. poppy was being heavily countered by trundle sometimes fiora and quinn. so there are counter picks. right now. the only reason that shes still picked a lot in pro play because only 4 top laners are being picked at all. poppy mao trundle (rarely) and ekko. when they run out of maokai and ekko teams pick poppy because there is nobody else to pick in their gameplan.

shes currently down there with illaoi as one of the worst top laners.

I just want the AA reset back. There is too much power in her ult and W to shift any power elsewhere I think.

It's pretty clear from pro games that she's still viable and a buff would put her over the edge into broken.

here is the thing about pro play. what do they top lane now? 99.99% of the times. tanks

which tanks are viable in pro play.

Poppy. Maokai. ekko. and rarely trundle. nobody is picking poppy over trundke or ekko. the just pick her because there is nothing else to pick.

in pro play. there isn't 131 champions. there is only about 20 you can remove the rest. thats their selection pool

It isn't good for Poppy to be considered one of the top 20 champions of the game?

She's not one of the top 20 champions in the game though. She's one of the champs that work well on a coordinated team, which is a different beast than dynamic queue.

You want to talk about her rate of success in normal games? Sona has had a positive winrate outside of pro games for ages.

Cassiopeia Swain 36% win rate.

Shhh with your 49.5%

if poppy is balanced why is her winrate that low even with experienced players and low playrate?

Same question for Lee Sin.

I'm pretty sure the answer is that their ultimates can both clinch a win or throw a game into a loss depending on very minute differences in both the skill of the player and the ability of their team to follow up on the results of the ultimate. They have to be balanced around that high end for organized play even though most of the time in solo queue you will have players that use the ult to save an enemy accidentally instead of turning a 5v5 into a 5v4 with the enemy's tank launched waaaay off in the distance.

I still think she's quite fine in solo queue. Her winrate isn't THAT bad and I think devoted players are rewarded for their efforts.

but that means its 50/50. lee sin is a high skill cap champion. poppy is not. also look at leesin playrate and look at poppy. when lee sin gets that winrate at such a low playrate come and compare the two

The fact that she has a low winrate despite being a highly contested pick in pro games seems to run contrary to this statement. Plus, she seems to have a very steeply rising success rate as players play more games on her.

I think she's a lot easier to pick up and understand than Lee Sin. However, getting wall stuns when you need them has never been very easy; a very important melee tool for her is actually a skillshot which, when combined with her dash, can be easily aimed the wrong way in what would otherwise be a straightforward fight; her W requires a lot of game knowledge AND reading your opponents in order to know who has dashes you can cancel and when you need to time the ability to stop the dashes that matter; and finally her ultimate which is a variable range skillshot with a pretty unforgiving hitbox that can be used to lockdown, disengage, secure objectives by removing the enemy jungler, score killshots, change the numbers in a fight AND ALSO SAVES ENEMIES IF YOU SCREW IT UP. Getting everything out of that kit is not very simple and she really needs to be balanced around using most of that potential instead of simply winning by charging without scoring a stun, hitting with her passive, and landing only one blast from her Q.

Unless you want to take her jungle.

That's all poppy needs bug fixes and slight buffs otherwise she's fine atm.
