Why is Morgana so good?

So, I used to be a Silver 4 last season. I got destroyed in my provisionals, and sent away to Bronze 5 (which was the worst day of my life). I generally tend to play bot lane, and nobody really picks support, so I play it. I just played a ton of games today, and I moved up to Bronze 4, but I couldn't help but notice something. Morgana is such a good support. Her Q helps to spoonfeed your ADC. Her E protects your ADC or you from spells which is amazing. Her ultimate is so good in teamfights when combined with .

Morgana is a strong mage, powerful against other mages. Most supports have mage as their secondary. Morgana excels against other mages. With AD assassins currently being fairly prevalent in mid lane, it's a bit risky for Morg.

She does fairly well against Zed . Katarina is much more of a problem.

True, Zed' ult is pretty noticeable and he has to get in range of your pool to cs. I'd figure that Morg would do better against Kat though, but given how fast she can get off her ult, that would make it problematic.

Mostly I think it is because Kat usually starts boots and four pots, while Zed starts long sword and three pots. And shunpo has a shorter cool down than living shadow.
