How do I counter Riven

I have yet to find out how to counter her. I tried shutting her down, that didn't work very well. I built tanky..that didn't work either. I start Doran's shield but..that worked for like 2 levels. Anyone have advice?

First of all these are the hardest counter to Riven players

All these Champion all have something in their kit that will fuck with Riven combo or cc such as: silence, stun, close gap deny (#Poppy), tank, etc.

Renekton by far is one of her biggest counter, because he can harass her so well and even way better than she could to him -bring summoner 14 to fuck Riven even harder

I've heard that even Malphite can be good against her. Mainly because he could be classified as an "Anti-Carry" (?) of sorts. And probably the fact that he LOVES building armor.

Well he prolly could once he reach his late game point or somewhere when he reach his power spike.
