[Suggestion] New Resolve mastery

My idea for a Resolve mastery to be introduced in Tier 2 and/or Tier 4

Idea 1:

http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/f/f0/Adaptive_Armor_mastery_s4.png/revision/latest?cb=20150713004703

Adaptive Armor

  • For every 100 armor, you gain 5% of that value as magic resistance and for every 100 magic resistance, you gain 5% of that value as armor.

Idea 2:

http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/3/30/Resistance_mastery_s4.png/revision/latest?cb=20131122000435&format=webp

Reinforced Protection

  • Reduces damage taken when being crowd controled by 5%.

Idea 3:

http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/c/c4/Hardiness_mastery_s4.png/revision/latest?cb=20131122000426

Tough Skin:

  • When being damaged by any source (except turrets), deflects 3% of your maximum health as magic damage for 2 seconds.

First one sounds awesome, but I don't think the original mastery is all that bad. Maybe replace Veteran Scars, perhaps?

Second one sounds perfect to me, I'd say that's a pretty good idea.

I don't think I like the sound of the last one, I think it might sound better if they had that on top of Thornmail, instead of having it as a mastery. I'm aware that it has a deflection passive already, but maybe after buying so much armor, then the secondary deflect is active. Think Warmog's requirement passive, but with armor.

but the masteries can co exist just look at assassin and expose weakness

i agree with the 3th idea that it shoudl be put on thornmail and give it like a 200 armor threshold or something so you would need at least 1 other armor item to make it work, ninja tabi should already be enough

#2 all the way, replace veterans scars.

That teir is a 0/5, it would be easy to make it 1% per point in it.

Make it happen. I get what youre going for in the first one, but Im looking at this as if we could only have one.

If we could only have 1, Id want it to be the 2nd one. Though it may be too strong at 5%, seeing as slow is everwhere it could end up being just straight 5% in every teamfight, still its a start, at worst 0.5% per point in mastery.

FYI the 3rd one is worded very poorly. 3% over 2 seconds? 3% every second for 2 seconds? 3% once with a 2 second window for it to happen? I cant understand what you mean and honestly it sounds like Keystone level stuff 3% of a tanks HP you cant stop yourself from taking can be very serious "winning? WIN HARDER" kind of stuff.

#2, make it happen Riot! replace Veterans Scars with this.

Thanks for the reply.

First off, Tier 2 or Tier 4 mastery only has 1 point to put, so all what i've added is simply just 1 point.

Second. What i'm trying to say on the idea 3, if you damage an enemy champion with that mastery, you will be damage for 3% of his maximum health as magic damage for 2 seconds. Does not stack if attacked multiple times.

Example: Syndra uses Q or basic attacks on Nautilus who has this mastery. For 2 seconds, you will be damaged for 3% of his maximum health as magic damage. If you continue to attack during those 2 seconds, it will not stack or refresh the "debuff".

i like these ideas tanks need more tankyness but this could also help weak champs 2 what tree would you put them in?

These 3 can be put into Resolve tree, which is the tank tree. I can't see any other reason to add one of these 3 in other trees. These 3 are really good for the tanky tree.

Well Riot did state that they'd like to incentivize roles putting points into other trees by creating the options.

For example, supports tend to lean either into the Resolve tree if they want durability or the Cunning tree if they want damage. Supports had no reason to put points into the Ferocity tree as they had nothing to reap from it. Expose Weakness was added to that tree to provide more meaningful choices, so now supports could viably put points into all 3 trees (even if the Ferocity tree doesn't have anything after expose weakness that supports would like).

Tanks currently have the option to take from the Ferocity tree Double Edged Sword and Oppressor as cc is common in tanks and most tanks are melee. The Cunning tree has Dangerous Game which restores a percent of missing health (so it benefits champs with more health) the more assists/kills they get, jungle tanks would like Runic Affinity, tanks that like taking potions or flasks would like Secret Stash, and splitpushing tanks (like Shen and Nasus)/durable duelists (like Darius and Nasus) would like Assassin.

So putting the suggested masteries on the Resolve tree could be good, but shouldn't be automatic simply because they're meant for tanks.

the ferocity tree was supposed to be for "kill" supports who are really just ap carries who go bot. however, a lot of the assassin-esque masteries in cunning fit them a lot more, that even the damage ap carries mostly go cunning as well rather than ferocity.

a big contrast to the old offense tree vs utility tree ap mids, you could at least find a Lux/Karthus/Morg running 9/0/21 occasionally in mid while the rest ran 21/0/9. now pretty much everyone and their moms run the cunning tree for TLD - ADCs, mages, bruisers, tanks, supports etc. Isn't that an indication that something is not quite right at the moment?

i think the 3rd one would look good in the 2nd tree near the bot of it like with Cd and PEN since its speed based kinda thing just an idea

Good point.

Third one is pretty overloaded and would turn into another Warlords Bloodlust problem where certain champions like Rammus would get higher success rate in games.

I fully expect to be downvoted but Tough Skin doesn't make sense to me. It sounds like you mean 'inflicts' or 'reflects' (which would still require an internal cooldown or else tanks would be immensely more dangerous). Deflection basically means to outright ignore damage since it's being —harmlessly— cast aside but doesn't quite line up with why you'd put "as magic damage"; "for 2 seconds" makes sense but otherwise, I'm a little lost.

No to idea 1 and 3, Yes to idea 2 would be a great addition as a 3rd choice.
