In hoping to please mord mains you are giving him a ridiculous unreasonable amount in his kit

Bultz··1 votes·1,166 views

Watching the videos you released was mind numbing. Though the new kit mord was shown be getting looks cool and is cool, your giving him way to much. Way way to much. The damage is going to be ridiculous and you need to town this down. The levels of CC look stupidly high. All melee champions will be instantly crushed by him by the looks of it. The rioters in the video were like "We want to give the opponent ways to counter and play against his ult so it's not a one sided fight" then lists running and flashing away as far as possible from mord as the only counters. Then you say his ult will make him invisible mid fight and his opponent, so basically he ults their weakest player and uses his ult to escape any fights that dont favor him or gets an easy kill. I can not stress this enough riot, do not put that kit in the game. It's going to be broken at all levels.

We didn't even see the numbers yet

A single slow hand is not "stupidly high levels" of CC

You can also turn around and kill him. Ulting champions like Vayne , Kaisa , Kalista , Cassiopeia , Darius , MasterYi is actually a suicide if Mord is not overfed compared to them

he ults their weakest player and uses his ult to escape any fights that dont favor him or gets an easy kill

Trading yourself for the weakest enemy is not a winning strategy for a teamfight. And I can't see how this helps him escape whatever.

So... This is actually a really strong ult. Whether behind or ahead, this takes one person completely out of the fight. For seven seconds. The only counter-play is to kill him. What if he stalls? Like, That's a ridiculous amount of time for an ability that takes people out of the fight completely.

Two persons actually. Mordekaiser himself and the target

Poppy is better at taking people out of fight if she hits her R. At least she stays in the fight herself. Yes, the ult is really strong, but it is not looking too uncounterable. At least until we see what that "steals % of core stats" means.

I'm aware it takes Morde out of the fight as well. I meant one person on the other team, which was obvious when I stated "The only counterplay is to kill him."

I disagree. Poppy's ult is a skillshot. It's relatively easy to predict (swinging hammer) so it's easy to counter with Zhonya's, sidestep, etc. If it does hit, then yes, it takes someone out of the fight for a bit and leaves Poppy in the fight. But it at least has counterplay. What's the counterplay to Morde ult? Point, click, goodbye? Can't sidestep it. Can't Zhonya's it. We aren't sure if Banshee's counters it (Like Poppy's hammer). I imagine it wouldn't, but who knows. It has no cast time. What is the counterplay?

You are leaving the fight too. Enemy team can use the abscence of enemy tank just as well as your team can use the abscence of the champion you ulted. What other counterplay do you need for a spell with (probably) huge cooldown that basically does the same thing (removing one champion) for both teams? And Banshee's probably counters it. Is there even a spell that is not countered by Banshee's? Even Nocturne R darkness is blocked by it.

Again, I am aware that the Morde leaves the fight as well. I'm just analyzing the importance of Morde leaving the fight vs. the best player on their team or the only tank, etc. Morde has the choice to use the ult. You don't have the choice of whether or not to be in it. That's why I said maybe. We don't know the interactions yet. However I'd argue that a useless Morde for the team's only tank/adc would be pretty beneficial. And if the Morde get the kill in a short period of time, he comes back even stronger. There isn't really a lose situation for the Morde except dying. And if his goal was to stall the enemy's damage/cc, then I would argue that would be a win, honestly. We'll have to wait until the champ comes out to see the interactions and whether or not it's overpowered.

Imagine having one tank on the team to peel for your fed ADC. He could take that tank out of the fight for 7 seconds. Long enough for the enemy team to body the rest of them. Especially with an assassin heavy meta. It's just really strong, I think. But we'll see.

Maybe you are right. If a team is heavily dependant on a single champion doing his job, Mord's ultimate will be much stronger against them. But on the other hand, if Mordekaiser is the only fed champion in his team, his ultimate can easily lose the fight for his team. As i see it now, it requires some thought. Do you want to use ult, when and on whom. And that's actually interesting

That's true. But regardless, there isn't much counterplay involved. It's more along the lines of "How can Morde screw up one person's day." Because regardless of if he wins or loses, that person doesn't get to participate for up to 7 seconds. Riot has been trying to do away with point/click forms of suppression (I.E. Warwick's ult). This is probably a step in the wrong direction. At least you could cleanse or qss suppression. I'm not so sure about this one since it isn't actually a CC. I have a feeling this is a bit too ambitious and may get reverted in the near future. Or Morde could get nerfed to nothingness due the lack of counterplay. We'll see how it all pans out.

Aka it takes actual game sense to use. So for anyone saying New Morde isn't gonna take any skill at all can toss that sentence out the window.

Fun fact #1: they always show the champion at peak potential, even if the champion turns out to be a turd. You can't speculate anything until you actually see his numbers.

1 CC ability, his E, is "stupidly high"? You might want to rethink your argument.

He has as much CC has Darius. Well... actually... Darius has a slow too.

Then you say his ult will make him invisible mid fight and his opponent

You might want to watch the video again. He doesn't turn invisible. He literally goes to a different "realm" (layer). He and his target fight in a different layer on the game.

{quoted}

so basically he ults their weakest player and uses his ult to escape any fights that dont favor him or gets an easy kill.

That helps him how exactly? You remove youreself plus the weakest champion on the enemy team. Now the fight is 4v4, but your team lost someone way more valuable. Say you R a Support. Great. Now you have some of that Support stats, but your team probably lost the fight without you.

Please, do save your criticism and suggestions until we have a chance of trying the new champion. At the very least, until we see his numbers. Then you can speak all you want. Until then, none of us have a basis to talk.

His numbers will have to be high, since he only has two damaging abilities. Three if you count his passive, and two again if his new E is like Darius’s and does no damage.

Three if you count his passive

Wut? His new passive is one of the most important parts of his kit. I would even go so far as to say the most important part, even more than his R. New Mordekaiser is all about extended fighting. If you think about it, current Mordekaiser excels at that too, which is one of the reasons why players avoid fighting Morde head-on.

The new passive will make extended fights easier for him because he will keep the passive active as long as he's "in combat" with champions. ######Meaning his big source of damage will be much easier to pull off, unlike what happens now with his Q.

{quoted}

if his new E is like Darius’s and does no damage.

It does damage. We already know his full kit. We just don't know the numbers.
