Would a "Mind Control" that only lets you move your target around still be unacceptable?

Sylvanas

Mind Control CC's are a dicey thing to add into the game, but Blizzard seems to have made an acceptable version for Sylvanas in Heroes of the Storm.

Mind Control After a 1 second cast, take control of an enemy Hero's movement and prevent them from doing anything else. Channel lasts 2.5 seconds.

This only lets her forcibly reposition an enemy and doesn't let them attack or use abilities during that time. By itself, it's little more than an annoyance. She needs teammates or a nearby Fort to make the most of it.

While Skarner can sorta do the same thing, his Impale deals damage, while Sylvanas' Mind Control does not. Sylvanas also doesn't have to get into melee range for hers to work, but she also CC's herself while controlling the enemy.

Would this be acceptable? Or is the phrase "Mind Control" a trigger for flaming?

Conceptually, that would be fine. Realistically, there is no way in hell that could be implemented without mordekaiser level of spaghetti.

It makes me wonder when Riot is going to simply ditch League's current engine and just replace it with an entirely new framework.

Probably whenever they decide to make League of Legends 2.

mind control/hypnosis/whatever else you may call it would actually be kind of unique in the game. Honestly, it would fit maybe a psychic champ. Or for reworks if Cassiopeia got a rework, she could maybe have an ability to control a target, jungle book logic. Or if Nocturne got one, maybe he could possess a target's body. So many ways this could implement as.

I think that would be fine. There is obvious counterplay in that you can move your enemy where you want but you can't move yourself for the duration. There is also always item 3140 if the ability becomes a problem.

Yes, it would be a channeled ability that requires you to stand still. And yeah, QSS would counter it.
