What if there was some kind of... debuff in the enemy jungle.

PSA from your friendly neighborhood midlaner:

Right now junglers are being punished much harder than laners for similar mistakes:

Die in lane, you miss maybe 1-2 waves, assuming it was pushing towards you, less if you had the push going. Die in the jungle, you lose all your camps on that side of the map, and both scuttles, and possibly drag / rift herald / one of your buffs. Basically you lose like 4-5 waves.

Can you imagine what it would be like to lane if every single time you died you missed out on 300g and half-3/4 of a level, while your opponent GAINED that same amount?

What if there was some kind of debuff that mitigated this? It's just too damned extreme right now imo. Junglers just get punished SO MUCH for making small mistakes.

It's no wonder jungle is the least played role, and that means that it's the most auto-filled role, which compounds the problem even more because an autofill jungler doesn't know how to mitigate their losses.

tl;dr: jungle is too punishing for junglers, fix it fix it fix it!

This is perspective from low elo tho, if your midlaner dies(getting pushed under turret is enough), then there is big chance that enemy mid will just help his jngler take your camps/objectives. You forget that mid is 2v2 lane.

That's the thing, there are extremely few matchups in mid where neither player has priority at any given stage of the game. For example I made the incredibly poor decision to one-trick Kat, who has zero priority until around 3 minutes (level 2 spike) in most matchups, and zero priority for the entire game without jungle intervention in the rest.

I would estimate that I get shoved in non-stop for the first 5 minutes in 9/10 of my matches.

Junglers have rubberband catch up XP, bonus experience per level higher the jungle camp monster is compared to the jungler.

Junglers have lanes that still exist that they can gank for wave XP and to get their team in a better position to protect them from the enemy jungler.

The enemy jungler can take all your camps, even solo kill you, but it literally doesn’t matter since you’ll be earning more XP than them since being a level down actually profits you more XP then you would’ve gotten, evening it out later.

Lanes that lose XP will lose 2v2s as there is no catch up system, laners who lose will not have lane priority which means your jungler cannot go for invades or objectives even if they’re ahead or better than the enemy jungler, and especially for mid and top laners if they have priority they can roam and influence other lanes (including invading with their jungler)

A debuff isn’t necessary because we do have rubber banding as a legitimate play style (especially for pantheon, Elise, lee sin, camille, and other early pure gank junglers). It’s way harder for a lane who’s behind to be useful at all while pushed into a tower than it is for a jungler who’s behind, as they can still play around their laners.

Masters jungle main.
