You think you do but you don't

Is the dynamic queue debate turning into this? I thought Riot was moving above this sort of thinking when they apologized over the hyperbolic time chamber. But is dynamic queue still stuck in stalemate?

Is Riot really thinking: "solo'ers all love dynamic queue they just don't know it yet, and if they don't we'll make them like it...eventually".

I don't think cold turkey has ever worked.

I'm pretty sure they're thinking "Premades are happy and as long as enough solo queuers stay to fill in for the premades then it'll all be fine"

We all know how well this approach ultimately worked out for Google. http://i.imgur.com/ywnPPK7.png

Devil's advocate here, but I believe what Riot is saying is 'A large majority of players either prefer Dynamic Queue or are indifferent to it.' I'm sure they're aware of the forums, but the forums are not a significant percentage of the gameplay population. Further, the forums tend to be largely made up of players who came to complain about something (otherwise they'd be playing the game) so they tend to represent your least-satisfied players. So it's entirely possible the forums' opinions conflict with their own internal polling data, which is far more extensive.

I don't play ranked but think dynamic queue's shenanigans are silly, how does Riot measure this?

You would likely fall into the 'uninformed opinion' category then, since you don't use and don't intend to use the system you have an opinion on. Would be a bit like me complaining about Game of Thrones even though I don't watch it. Sure, I could do it, but that opinion probably doesn't mean much to the people making the show.

I just prefer blind pick over DQ because I tend to fill roles anyways, so why not speed up the process of being given support with a shorter timer and without ban shenanigans?

But yeah, sometimes if the premades have higher elo friends, that tends to screw with me, because it means i'll be matched against higher elo players, which actualy bother to counter play and I'll be stuck making harsh decisions that I'm not up to the task.

Last time I had a diamond player on my team, we lost and the entire enemy team knew to focus me when they could.

I've played other games with what Riot is doing and didn't like it, they weren't MOBA's but the match making Grade A BS. Premades vs Non-Premades sucks balls, gangly hairy balls, the wrinkly kind.

But forum posters DO somewhat represent the population, in the same way a (bullsh**) survey represents the entire population when X amount of players may not have even participated in it, or didn't even log on during it.

I get that more forum posters come on here to just complain period, but EVEN given that, the backlash on here AND on reddit is so gigantic, it should at least warrant a "redo" of the "survey" with more legitimate and non-shady questions. Especially now that it's further down the line.

Hell even looking at the statistics of people playing this season, money spent on league, and how many people who played ranked last season vs this season might be worth looking into. Both now and again at the end of S6.

They're not always complaining, otherwise the meme boards wouldn't exist. There's a lot of shit posting and bitching for sure, but it's not all bad, in fact I reckon the LoL boards are my fav boards :)

No. They're thinking they have problems with the existing system that need to be fixed before they introduce any distractions that make it harder to solve those problems. They're thinking that after they solve those problems, introducing another queue won't have much of a point. They're also thinking that they have a "philosophical difference" with players who want to put emphasis on individual skill rather than good team play by playing in an exclusively solo queue, and it's not going to be reconciled unless those players change their minds.

I'm sure there is a Walking Dead reference around here somewhere…...

Saying "the majority of people enjoy solo queue" doesn't mean "100% of people like it." It just mean that more people like it than don't. Which, when looking at the boards, makes sense that it is filled with hate threads. People are naturally more vocal about a displeasure rather than something good. Granted, it seems most of those enjoying it are in the low-mid elos, while higher elos hate it because of high variance in skill within games (low diamonds playing with challengers), higher queue times (due to rarity of support making finding one take forever), and higher chance to play against a premade from smaller pool of players to choose from. Personally as a plat solo player, I don't mind it much, but I think establishing separate brackets would be better in the long run.
