Lower base damages, better scaling. Other than her root that doesn't last that long, she doesn't have that much that would make her a good support other than high damage early on. So why is she being pushed as a support? She's a mage and still can be played mid, but she is used as a support since she can zone off squishy champs from farm very early on. So why not make her a lane control mage with better scaling into the lategame?

I know I'm currently only silver 3 but got a nice 70% ish win rate on her (couple of support games) and a 4.0 KDA.
She doesnt need ANY changes. She is fucking balanced exactly where she is. She scales fine.

Her high damage, cc, and zoning, combined with the fact that mid game she will be almost as powerful as the midlaner, makes her appealing to midlaners as well. The game needs supports with wider appeal. Mid mages, and adc, are my main roles (I bounce back and forth between them), Zyra has been the one support that has made me consistently volunteer to support cuz I get all the gameplay of mid, while having 2v2 bot lane action. I would actually play her more if I could get more decent adcs, tho Jhin is my main so.

That's good, As a support main, I enjoy champions that have that duality. And if her mid lane is still fair, then it shouldn't matter too much, as long as neither position is oppressive.
Though that in mind, I suspect that small differences between roles will create large gaps in the play rate. Even if Zyra was still a good midlaner, choosing her might mean giving up a better support. (Might be why they arn't chosen mid in pro play.)
Personally, I think if Riot stays true to a champion's particular play style and theme/fantasy, it shouldn't matter what position the excel in. Nor do I think that damage oriented supports are some how inherently unhealthy.

Like, at this point we're just admitting that support fucking sucks, both role and champions. The champs are passive cheerleaders that can't do much about the lane, and the role itself is the unwanted foster kid in the family that is the Rift. Can we stop with nerfs and actually improve champions/classes for once?
