I would really like if the reverted the change to the yellow trinkets. Where you could have greater stealth or greater vision.

yeah now u just run around with blue trinkets and have a support place 3 wards.. I think most teams get away with only 1 sweeper now. Where is the strategy in that? lol

Sweeper? #BronzeLyfe

Mana pots are far more needed then green wards, and beside they were taken out for a reason. Whilst you could ward the jungle up; the already op jungle would be made into a situation where the jungler could barely gank because he'd be spoted easily.

no just build mana items, i can totaly manage my mana regen , and it makes you less spammable i dont mind it , just learn how to play with no mana pots

What is a gren ward?

Prospector Pete15 votes

I have no idea. A ward forged out of the essence of gren?

Penns5 votes

Maybe... but why do you want gren wards back? Were they even in the game before?

Prospector Pete2 votes

Huh?

Penns5 votes

Sarcasm + internet :/ :D

Zeurth2 votes

No, that's just being an idiot. That's not sarcasm.

Penns5 votes

Writing "gren ward", implying that I dont know what green wards are, based on the "saying" that no one buys green wards kind of is sarcasm lol

an acient ward forgotten thanks to the useless yellow ward with a cooldown of 160 sec that feels like an enternal suffering , just waiting for it , you are better off buying a pink ward rather then waiting :s

Upvote if you want to farm upvotes by saying something the almost entirety of the boards agree with!

Jacobofcourse2 votes

Agreed. I hate a when a post just asks for upvotes but provides any additional information. I would like to hear why they believe green wards should come back. I would like to see the metrics from RIOT on how warding has changed.

But isn't it kind of nice to not have so much vision battle? It makes warding feel meaningful, and means you can actually keep track of who is warding what, where. It makes vision more of something you have to think about ahead of time, it makes buying sightstone and green smite actually worth your gold. Vision wards are actually valuable and worth contesting. Vision is now a resource your team has to manage together, rather than something for one person to spam simply because they have the ward in their inventory. There never was a question about warding before-- do you have a ward? Yes? Place it. No? Why not? Buy one. Place it. Now if you want to ward for dragon you can't just always drop a ward in the pit whenever it's convenient, you have to plan for when you want it and set it up. Destroying vision is meaningful and not a mindless activity. I notice in all my games the warding is very spread out among players, meaning now adcs and mids are learning about vision and learning to ward, too.

I hated the new vision when it came out, but I am beginning to like it. I just don't think it's as bad as everybody makes it out to be.

bahamutkaiser3 votes

Downvote, additional wards just decrease the amount of ambushing in competent games, and allow winning teams to control map visibility easier.

Prospector Pete1 votes

Or, they allow losing teams to come back by picking the enemies off.

bahamutkaiser3 votes

It's observable that the winning team has the finances and freedom to remove enemy wards and dispense their own easily. Riot already reviewed this. This hinders come backs.

because blue trinket wards last forever, have no limit, have a low cooldown and you can ward from safety

^ And you can't teleport to them.

if you could tp to them they would be way to op for back doors and such, but also most of the time you dont tp to a ward

BRUH NUH UH

Rook Loux1 votes

r u saying nuh uh they wouldnt be op if u could tp to them or that no one tp's to wards?

Roll in Grass1 votes

I'm a midlane main who takes tp instead of ignite and I tp to wards very often.

freereign1 votes

the tping to wards part

Rook Loux1 votes

i guess it's just in my experience, there aren't wards in places that get me somewhere without dying immediately or needing to run away. is there a specific time you have found it useful?

freereign1 votes

A couple. One is back-dooring, others include ambushing the team, securing kills, assasinating a gigantic tower, helping out in team fights, stealing buffs, dragon, baron, lane support, gank.

Rook Loux1 votes

Holy guacamole this was forever ago. But like i said, there often isn's a ward in a good place in my experience (probably because in bronze vision isn't a lot of ppls concern)

Rook Loux1 votes

blue wards are actually the best. you can check buffs without going over to them, cuz of the insane range on them, you can also ward drag and baron from a distance, if you have a global ult it might help you. sooo many good things about it.

Jacobofcourse2 votes

There has several posts regarding this topic. However, I have to disagree with this. I like to removal of green wards with the changes in trinkets. At my current rank, I almost believe vision has actually improved with these changes.

  • With the addition of tracker knife, junglers have a way to set up vision (without wasting an item slot for sightstone) or need to smite raptors/wolfs appropriately.
  • Laners are able to stay in lanes longer because they get a recharging ward trinket that now can generate 2 stacks later in the game. League has encouraged purchasing pink wards.

  • Removing green wards has made it more difficult for teams to completely control large vision areas on the map. It was common to see 3 or 4 players on a team with a sweeper allowing a team to both remove ward effectively then place down their own vision with green wards. Now they are unable to completely do both in a short amount of time. Making them choose what is more important for the team.

The only change I would like to see is the ability to exchange the yellow trinket to be able to place pink wards. If everyone is able to complete their 6th items, then teams are forced down to one pink (assume the support leaves an item slot for them like they should). That would at least allow a team to control an area of vision when contesting a late game drag or baron. That is just my thoughts.

Did anyone actually ever buy green wards?

Did anyone actually ever buy green wards?

No.

Their removal makes it so pro players don't light up the whole map, anyway. They showed stats for those who bought and placed wards. ADCs almost never bought them ever, but only supports bought "a decent amount" per game consistently from what I remember.

Now they're gone and the QQ Train has to choo-choo its way on over. Instead of asking for reversions, people should be asking for improvements.

Watamote1 votes

I did. Especially early game. (As a support) Especially before completing sightstone. Good for potential early ganks.

Roll in Grass1 votes

I'm a midlane main, and I relied on green wards to not get ganked. I'd always buy two green wards when I backed so I don't get ganked. Now I find myself getting ganked very often because my trinket ward isn't up often enough for me to ward both sides. It's probably not that big of a problem for the other lanes, but it's a huge problem for midlane and I'd like them back.

To be honest, once the changes to the yellow trinket go through I don't think I'll care as much.

They are lowering the cooldown between charges, I think. They wanted vision reduced and I think they overdid it, so it will be nice to have some more.

Itadaki Seieki1 votes

If anything I'd like them to make an " Oldies " game-mode where it'd just be old Summoner's Rift, old Items ( SOME fixes, I don't want 6 Sunfire Anyone, ) and just the ability to play old Summoner's Rift again.

I MISS IT SO MUCH. ;_; I just want to play Bard and build Philo stone again.

Warding is fine, it enforces diversity. It's more team oriented as riot was atrempting to make in the first place. With regards to mana potions, just manage ur mana. Im a mid main who plays mostly AP champs. Manage that sht and ask for blues.

Guryu1 votes

I never bought green wards anyway... I just played safe until lvl 9 and upgraded my trinket for free wards, too bad it's much worse now.

Winding Phoenix1 votes

If you want to look in another perspective, green wards are actually unnecessary now. Supports have Sightstoneitem 2049 and the jungler now has a trackers knife item 3711 used for warding.

Yes. Top and Mid lakers need wards, but considering the fact that you can store 2 trinkets now and a cheaper pink ward. You should ward the bush that you are more afraid of enemy jungler or a roamer coming in and ward the other bush with your trinkets. Normally I pink ward the bush nearer to my turret, cause thats the more dangerous area.

And Scuttle Crab always gives vision. Just ask your jungler to clear it more often so you get vision. It defends your Rift Scuttler, Baron and Dragon too. Honestly I think green wards are unnecessary for the season now.

I would really love if the Mana Potions came back....I can't kill anyone because I don't have enough mana for any of my spells. Riot, at least make a gamemode with all of the removed items back. Thanks!Annie

Well I've always felt like league is a game of missing information and how you make decisions based off of it. When the map looks brighter than a Christmas tree for one team and darker than tahm kench's belly for the other team, that's not really feeding into decision making, and more giving it limitations and making wins way too decisive.

You can say the games are way faster now due to the AD changes, but its also because we're not spending an extra 10 minutes playing the fun fun minigame of the 'clear the wards and bait', I don't think that's what I play league for, nor is it a very mechanical skill yet the vision game leads to so many victories, is that good game play?

Wards? You mean Spoilers!

Meh , the trinkets are fine to me ,... maybe give the yellow trinkets a slightly longer duration ,other than that , the blue trinkets seem to be fine enough, basically a pink ward , without the , " shows hidden objects"
