It's finally good to see Zed back in every other game.

People cry that they are being forced to buy
. Lmao as if they weren't going to buy it anyway.
If he was forcing you to buy something like
I would understand, but an item you plan on buying anyway completely removes him from the game and you whine?
I'm tired.
or if you are an adc
Cleanse doesn't work against Zed's ult.
Only QSS does.
It doesn't matter, every new champ just screws up Zed somehow (TK can, Fiora can negate both mark and explosion, Bard well, we know his AoE Zhonya and Ekko can dodge his mark with ult or negate the damage with it.)

Sadly when you compare the effectiveness to
when the Zed bought
all you're doing is slightly delaying his damage while he takes none. Zhonyas is an effective counter yes, but being forced into it as a first item severely gimps your early game.
no it doesn't
It does if you're mana dependent. Not getting Morello's or Athene's really screws you over.
All I'm hearing is:
"WAAAAAAA I HAVE TO MANAGE MY MANA INSTEAD OF MINDLESSLY SPAMMING MY SKILLS. WAAAAAAA."
Not to mention that you'll usually get blue at about 7-8 minutes anyway so mana isn't an issue. If you have somehow fed Zed by 8 minutes they you deserve to get crushed. Learn to manage your mana m8.

Learn to manage your mana- wait....Shit I forgot Zed doesn't have mana M8. Zed, by design, is able to stay in lane as long as he desires with minimal effort or without the need to go back. Mana got nerfed, Zed and other resource less champions did not.
You know what's hilarious? Energy champions actually get increased energy regen with blue buff (16 per second total, I believe). Mana champions love having blue buff, but it makes energy assassins with poke even more of a pain during laning :P
edit: you do realize that's objectively true, right? Energy regen gets boosted with blue buff. Salty!
"WAAAAAAA I HAVE TO MANAGE MY MANA INSTEAD OF MINDLESSLY SPAMMING MY SKILLS LIKE ZED CAN EARLY GAME BECAUSE ENERGY."

it's all about perspective
You do realize that an energy champion spamming their skills is a far more idiotic thing to do than on a mana champion?
If he throws W->E->Q at you on cooldown every single time, you will be able to fight him so easily it isn't even funny.
Yes he can use his energy to stay in lane, but don't mistake him for a fucking resourceless champion.
Hence why I said perspective. I hope it wasn't taken too seriously. I mean, we could do a whole train (an easy rebuttle would be something like Zed being defenseless for 8 whole seconds. At least mages can pop a mana potion before they get their mana items).
Energy is useful for laning, yes, but wasting it is stupid. It already somewhat falls off late-game, depending on what champion you're playing.
Also, hello fellow Tomb.
Together we are an insomniac dragon that lives in a tomb.
I like it
I absolutely hate assassins but isn't the whole point of Energy to allow them to be in a more bursty fight and to disable them from being in an extended fight (aside from like, every assassin with Energy to have some instant form of regen on an ability)
Every energy champion has an energy restore mechanic in their kits.
But it never outweights the cost of the ability required to get the energy back.

His energy only takes around 8-10 seconds to fully replenish. And during his distance farming he will be harassing as well. All immobile champions are completely screwed by zed, since point and click CC is being slowly removed it's only making him and champions like him stronger.
So when comparing an energy based champion to someone with a finite resource who is literally forced to rush Zhonyas, an item that gives nothing to their resource pool. I'd say that pretty much destroys any advantage you would have had otherwise. Zed simply being in your lane destroys all ability to roam (due to his wave clear being immense) or even killing him. He completely alters the dynamic of your lane unlike any other champ available.
The fact still remains, he's borderline resourceless, He has the best LH ability in the game, his ability to wave clear/split push is completely asinine, and honestly he doesn't need his ult to kill a target. I've witnessed Zed's simply throwing a shadow out using E using shurikens and switching to his shadow and 1 autoing someone.
What sets him aside from all other manaless champions is his raw ability to poke someone out of lane,
's rake is on the lower end of the range spectrum and can easily mana starve using it only a handful of times.
's daggers are good poke but do piss damage early and mid game.
's sickle is only good for last hitting or all inning.
's Q drains her mana extraordinarily quick.
can effectively poke you with decent damage and zone you off your minions at the same time. In other words he brings waaaaay more utility to a lane than your average assassin.
So what would be a good change to Zed to keep him in play while offering some counter to his constant barrage of poke, is while he has a shadow out, he will no longer regenerate energy, but as a pay off the shadow can auto applying his passive to his targets. This let's him keep his poke and waveclear but allowing for other people to play around his energy.
His energy only takes around 8-10 seconds to fully replenish.

Whenever I play an immobile mage mid, I find that stalling the seekers at all is disastrous and can lead to a lost lane. I mean, double Doran's ring is great if you're behind, but attempting to last hit minions in order to get mana back can prove difficult or you can end up on the losing side of a trade.

Unless you're somehow missing every cs with your AAs and not punishing him when he WEQ harasses in the 17 second window, you really shouldn't be losing lane building double Dorans
I get it regardless of how I'm doing because it removes any mana problems you might have

I'll agree that it really goes along way in helping the mana issue, but for some champions not stacking a tear early is detrimental to their lanning.

I think we found the problem

I also forgot that Zed mains are usually dicks who usually use insults to attempt to get their points across instead of actually attempting to defend their champion or offer anything to the argument as a whole.
I think we found the problem
you're a Zed main.
Lol just a sidebar comment but if zed mains are dicks then what are
mains?
Or how about we make it so that standing behind your minons reduces the damage of his Q? Most skillshots like his Q get damage reduction by target hit, so even dealing 10% less damage per target hit down to 50% would be nice.
I'm not sure if you are pulling his leg, but Zed already deals 50% damage everything behind the first thing hit.
What's irksome to me is that people who complain about champions don't even know how half of their kit works most of the time.
His energy only takes around 8-10 seconds to fully replenish.
Don't make a fool out of yourself.
Assuming Zed has max Energy it is 16.5 seconds after every WEQ, that scales down to 14.5 seconds with maxed Q and down to 12.5 with maxed Q and W.
Well, akali is in you're name so I can't fault you for being too dumb to realize how big of a setback it is against a champ that can stay in lane indefinitely and goes off the rails the second he establishes lane dominance.
That's not even close to being true lol. If he goes off the rails that's your fault for feeding him. And as said before if you can't manage your mana then you sorta deserve to lose lane. Champions have mana for the specific reason of not being able to spam their spells indefinitely. Do you know how broken it would be if Lissandra or Syndra or Ori could spam their skills forever?
Athene's was so good that it was the go to item for mages for seasons before it was finally nerfed and at one point it was so good that mages didn't even give a shit if they were against an AD matchup. Now that it isn't completely absurd anymore you have to manage your mana.
Energy champions get a fast replenishing resource pool so they can use their abilities but they have energy for the sole purpose of NOT being able to mindlessly spam their abilities. Do you know how quickly you run out of energy if you mindlessly spam your abilities as Akali or Zed? Mana champions have the benefit of getting to increase their mana pool and getting extra regen which is a huge advantage against champions that can't increase their pool or their regens unless they get blue buff.
You don't even need to go Athenes or Morellos to get perma mana either. Double Doran's allows you to have infinite mana as long as you don't mindlessly spam like an idiot or miss every minion.
You really couldn't know how energy consumption works because all you play is Veigar. Play a few games as Zed or Akali and you'll understand how difficult it actually is to manage energy.

Zed was my introduction to Assassins, I used him before I picked up Talon and Diana. I do realize that mindlessly spamming in lane will energy starve you, but I've never seen a Zed spam for the sake of spamming. Typically you throw out your shadow, use E attempting to either clear a wave and hit the opposing champion in the process and then use your shurikens in the same manner.
Again, I'm not saying that his energy is the main problem, It's the poke mixed with wave clear that's the problem. His energy just compounds the issue but isn't the real problem. Zed in his entirety forces a mage to rush a Zhonyas to effectively deal with him in lane. Yes Zhonyas is a core item on just about every mage, Yes it's a great item that counters Zed. But in the same respect it offers no utility until completion like the core items that Zed synergizes with.
The main thing is the forcing of an item that has limited stats that actually has to be built up by acquiring CS, which Zed punishes for attempting to last hit. Which is why some (not all) mages are forced to using skills to farm with from a safer distance and quickly draining their resource pool as consequence.
To reiterate, the damage and mobility is not the issue, it's his presence and pressure in lane that's the issue. It is the same reason Ryze and Rumble were nerfed in the past, being overbearing in lane.
Morellonomicon isn't a mana item.
When will people understand this.
Depends on a few factors, mostly champion choice.
It won't suffice as a man item on Anivia but if you're playing a less mana intensive mage like Veigar it'll cover it.
Would you call Nashor's Tooth and WotA mana items back in the day?
Because I wouldn't.
People complain about mana issues, but buy an AP/CDR/Grevious Wounds item with practically no mana regeneration.
PS. Veigar has Athene's mana regeneration as a passive.
Not really. If Zed has to buy Hexdrinker, then that's costing him early armor pen and sustain. That is a VERY hard blow to him. It delays his BotrK, Ghostblade, and LW, all of which are core. Zhonya's is already core on more midlaners, so their build path only got shifted, not completely thrown off like Zed.
Implying he has to rush hexdrinker, as opposed to every ap mid being pigeonholed into zhonyas 1st item.
Sadly when you compare the effectiveness to
when the Zed bought
all you're doing is slightly delaying his damage while he takes none.
Eh? Since when did Hexdrinker nullify all magic damage?
Hexdrinker > Seekers in this match up because of the magic shield on Hexdrinker.
You're forgetting that Seekers has a passive that allows you to stack an additional 15 Ap and Ar. This changes things slightly.
25 Ad 30 Mr
45 Ar 40 Ap
Both are great items, they just function differently.
Seeker's passive isn't really meaningful, because you need it as soon as you buy it. Which you won't for the next 5~ minutes.
Meanwhile Hexdrinker will block 250 magic damage * your Magic Resistance every 90 seconds.
True, you've a bit of instant strength vs more scaling strength, the question of which is better really falls onto the player then. Though with Seekers costing 250 less you can spare cash for a couple of potions, or if you've enough you can grab another cloth armor.
Depending on a champion.
Zed, for example starts, with a Long Sword, so he saves more gold than the other guy does buying Seeker's.
On the other hand a mage aganist Zed won't buy cloth armor, because Zed isn't that strong pre-6 to warrant starting the game with only defensive items.
The trick for mage lanes though is managing your mana so you can keep up your CS while keeping
at bay so he doesn't try to trade with you or try poking too much.
Making me glad I've been seeing some mages get mana buffs lately.
The thing is Zed's job pre-6 isn't making you miserable or anything. Moreso, he's usually a passive laner pre-6, because of how little he can actually do without the ult, at least in most matchup aganist ranged champions.
From what experience I have against him, his laning pre-six is usually trying to line up a shuriken so it last hits a minion while trying to make it hit the enemy laner as well. With the occasional shadow dash into shadow slash to try and get them to miss the seige minion.
Zed was completely fine after the last round of nerfs. He still carried games and deleted carries without problem. The buffs make zero sense and need to be reverted immediately.

*buff singular? It was just a .5 second reduction to his ult's delay. Nothing too major.
Talon is alot scarier imo dont know why they're crying
