@Riot Can you fix Tristana already?
Many of us were against the pre-season changes she received and now the effect of the changes showed themself.Tristana is just not good.Nerfed many of her stats nerfed IE along with it and now that Rageblade is going to changed that build is going out of the window too. While i understand you wanted to shift her from being a hypercarry with godly range into uhmmm...? You even took away her ability to quickly take out turrets for what?
A quick reminder about what changes she received in pre-season:
Stats
Base attack damage increased to 56.96 from 51.54.
Attack damage growth reduced to 2.41 from 3.
Rapid Fire
removed: On-hit CDR for Explosive Charge cooldown.
removed: On-hit CDR for Rapid Fire when attacking Explosive Charge.
Cooldown reduced to 20 / 19 / 18 / 17 / 16 seconds from 20 at all ranks.
Rocket Jump Base damage changed to 60 / 110 / 160 / 210 / 260 from 80 / 105 / 130 / 155 / 180. removed: Damage increase per Explosive Charge stacks. new effect: Cooldown is also reset if a fully charged Explosive Charge hits a champion. Explosive Charge new effect: Now detonates instantly on 4th stack. new effect: Rocket Jump and Buster Shot can apply stacks. Missile speed increased to 2400 from 1800.
Overall she got:
- Less uptime on Q.Removed on-hit CDR.Huge nerf.
- Reduced damage on W because of the more reliable reset mechanic.So with 2 jumps it will deal more damage. Buff.
- Removed on-hit CDR.Huge nerf.
So yeah all she gotten a bunch of nerfs and a conditional buff which given how long her cast+landing animation of Rocket Jump is it can be avoided.
While her current kit feels awkward at best i think she wouldn't need that much change to make it better despite all the nerfs she received:
1.The most important thing is probably her god awful auto attack animation.Why is this a thing?It's too easy to cancel.It just feels wrong.We have been complaining about for so long.
2.The duration of Rocket Jumps animation and cast time.It simply takes too much time to get from A point to B with it and makes it unreliable.And if the second jump doesn't hit or you don't have enough mana THEN you are left with a SEVERELY NERFED damage output on a carry who is supposed to be all-in. WHAT?This doesn't make any sense to me.
3.Bring back the CDR mechanic but in a different way.So you want Tristana players to fully commit and reward them for doing so? Then make it happen: Cooldown is reduced after detonation of Explosive Charge per the number of stacks. X second per stack of cooldown is reduced. X could be either 0.5 or 0.75 MAYBE 1 sec? Then you could adjust it to work on Turrets,minions or not. Most important thing here is to make her damaging ability more accessible.
Other version of the same idea is that different abilities would add different amount of cooldown reductions to Explosive Charge. Auto attacks: 0.5 sec Rocket jump:0.75 sec Buster Shot:1 sec These are just placeholders but you get the idea. Depending on your commitment you would get back different amount of cooldown reduction based on what you used.
Anyway i think the rest of her kit seems fine.
