Ashe has became the worst overall ADC in 5.23

Will she get any tweaks after the latest changes on her?Because let's be real the changes on her didn't turn out to be any good. Her utility has been shrinked. Her damage output isn't that good either. Her AS streoid with the latest changes is now available after 5 basic attacks.I hope i don't need to explain how bad that is especially when said AS streoid is tied to her damage steroid.

That assessment mostly seems to come from her play rate not being that high and her ban rate also being really low. Even if she is the "worst overall ADC in 5.23" by some measures, she still seems like she can be competitive.

For what it's worth, it makes sense that in a game with all these newly optimized damage tools, an adc focused more on utility may not come out on top in the meta.

That does not mean she can't get some QoL buffs. Maybe something like her Focus stacks lasting a bit longer (4 seconds is kinda short), or her abilities being able to refresh their duration (but not build extra stacks ala Vel'koz).

Her Q, I have to say, does not feel satisfying to use right now.

This is true. We'll want to make that evaluation before preseason ends.

I believe that was the primary complaint against ashe back before her rework. I think her being tweaked to not being able to heal on the crit mastery was enough to screw her over.

Ashe can never be 'competitive' as long as item 3222 exists.

A Rioter even admitted that this was likely the major problem behind Ashe's lack of success in the pro scene.

And then we saw Pray play her regularly on his way to the world finals.

im actually surprised you base this off of one players success, not like you. You do realize there are 9 other pros on those teams right? Not that i agree or disagree with op but who do you think is the weakest adc in particular?

That's only true assuming Ashe's only useful tool is her Ult. This has been far less true since her rework.

She now brings good damage, better vision and still has her permaslow, none of which are countered by Mikae's.

She also has been very popular in Korea. Lots of Korean ADCs like Pray and Arrow played Ashe very well late last season.

don't forget item 3140 it makes Ashe and Skarner very sad. Wish they got the galio treatment. I don't believe an adc can QSS out of vi. and she has several ways to get to a target. I also hate how in rank you Pick Ashe and a lot of times you'd see this on the field summoner 1

My god, wtf is going on my account is like Quadruple posting.

Is that true for Sivir as well? By all indications, her 5.22 changes butchered her performance (5 percentage points drop in winrate, bad performance statistics across the board).

5.23 contained a nice little buff for her, in the increased damage from the bounces, but this not really makes up for the rather heavy-handed nerf she got in reducing her base AS from 0.656 to 0.625 - on an ADC that really depends on his auto-attacks for damage. What is the though process behind this nerf? When her rework rolled in in season 4, that was one of the pulled changes, due to it feeling so bad.

Also, a question on her interaction with item 3812 : Do the bounces from W count as single target or multi-target for the health return?

RiotRiotRepertoir3 votes

It's true for Sivir as well. I believe she actually has some buffs on PBE at the moment.

ProfDrDeath1 votes

Oh, my bad - I thought the Ricochet buffs were already in 5.23. That's what I meant by "nice little buff". The question concerning that ability's interaction with Death's Dance is still interesting me, though.

Good to hear that you guys at Riot are following up on all the changes. Big probs, and don't let the hard time we tend to give you guys get to you - we just love the game that much.

While you're giving loads of attention to ADCs, have you got anything in the locker for Talon? Anything at all? Since 4.18 he's been untouched. With the amount of changes to the game (items etc.) he just feels abandoned. The removal of Crystalline Flask has really hurt his early game.

Squarefighter1 votes

Corrupting potion seems like it would be better for talon than flask, no? Talon's early laning basically required flask which sorta sucked for him because he lost some of his all in potential. Corrupting potion doesn't give as much sustain but does give some damage towards an all in or for trades. Of course Talon may be suffering from other areas but I don't think corrupting potion is one of them.

ZLbSwAR23I2 votes

His ability to go all in isn't the problem. It's his ability to sustain in lane that has taken a huge hit.

OneSmoothDude1 votes

I don't play Talon at all so this is just theoretical, but I'd think Flask was better than Corrupting Potion because it sustained him more. He's not a lane bully. He doesn't look for early kills. He just wants to farm without dying early so he can hit his level 6 and either kill his laner or roam and get a kill elsewhere. Since CP is worse than CF in this, it's not surprising that JXG thinks he's worse off now.

No one competitive wants to play her because she isnt good. Everyone wants to play the good adcs that you guys seem to have made way to strong (Jinx, Quin, Graves, Cait)

I think one problem might be that her base attacks now have bonus damage without being crit and her crits dealing the same damage.

This means she get's less heal from Warriors Bloodlust, equal to her crit chance.

They don't measure utility on their graphs. There you go. She still wins over half the time.

Dominick Destine3 votes

Yeah she took it up the arse pretty hard this patch.

The nerf to her slow and the HEAVY nerf to her auto-crit basically removed her only strengths... leaving her with only weaknesses.

ProfDrDeath4 votes

Her passive was not touched at all? She still gets bonus damage based on crit chance and crit damage on slowed targets...

MunchCrunchLunch1 votes

well why doesn't the passive say that? it says that her crit don't do extra damage they just slow targets even more?

ProfDrDeath2 votes

Because HER CRITS don't do extra damage. The crits just slow more.

She deals more damage based on her crit chance and crit damage to targets that are slowed by a previous attack or by Volley.

Her passive should say that. If not, it is an incorrect tooltip and should be reported as such.

1374341 votes

That is correct, the main reason it was changed is so Ashe wouldn't have guaranteed crits like she use to have which would syngerize too well with things like Warlord's with zero investment.

If she is so bad why is her winrate still good? http://champion.gg/ Vayne Lucian Tristana Caitlyn Jinx MissFortune Ezreal Graves Kalista Sivir Ashe Draven Corki Twitch Varus Quinn KogMaw Kindred

Ashe winrate is 50,49% which is 9th place of 18 ADCs

Play Rate is 5,11% 11th which isn't bad

You forgot Jungle. I hear she's a beast in the Jungle now due to her ult's incredible roam.

YuGiHo2 votes

Ashe with 100% crit chance and a hurracane in her build is pretty strong. a 50% slow on every auto from a ranged carry with atk speed steroids is crazy and she still has her stun.

till she gets to that point shes pretty ass and even when she gets there it means her lategame is utility and not damage like what you would want from your late game marksmen, but the utility she brings outshines just about any support

Riot just wanted Ashe to be an ult bot, utility ADC? what's that? oh right! ult something and hope for the best! what's that? she is supposed to slow people? pffff please, that's not utility!

are you forgetting the fact that her q allows her to do like 2.5x more damage during the duration, as well as her ult being 350 aoe dmg with a stun, and the fact that her slows are pretty strong. Lulu mid was never good because of her damage, it's becasue of the utility she brought to teams, not everything is about damage.

are you forgetting that her Q is a chore to even activate now as opposed to before the nerf to it? her slows are terrible right now, they barely do anything, her Q is outright terrible and the only thing Ashe has going for her as of now is her ult. Ashe has become nothing more than an ult bot that barely does anything outside of it unless she gets so far ahead that even ADC soraka would be good

the entire point of adc is to deal damage. if your a tank but your champ is better at dealing damage than tanking your not really a tank now are you?
