WHY did Riotgames even touch the Scuttle Crab??
I just got killed once by the enemy jungler early on, and now I'm completely and utterly useless for the entire game, because I can't compete about the Scuttle anymore without getting killed

Likely so the lcs have something to fight over really early in the game
Except they won't, because it isn't worth fighting for an early lead.
Adding more snowball mechanics like this doesn't encourage more interesting play, it encourages more boring play. One mistake, and you've lost, and pro's are payed to win not to play.
I haven't watched lcs since aatrox jungle was meta so I couldn't tell you
So you know literally nothing about pro play then.
well im guessing its still a 5v5 on summoners rift
[slayer-jinx-wink]
I know that they changed to a Korean type of playstyle some time ago where they would simply farm it out and avoid a lot of dangerous fights because it could quite easily cost a game, unlike when I was a avid fan during the aatrox meta (Chinese meta) where he was picked because of his passive was good for tower diving
And it's largely stayed a mostly passive meta-game since then. You sometimes get really early 5-man roams or buff steals, but other than that it's generally pretty boring, nobody wants to fight until they have a solid advantage, but they never have an advantage cause they never fight and gain an advantage.
Because toplaners: Buuuh jungle to stronk the minute 3 gank allways suprises me pls nerf.

Buhh whats a ward? What yuh mean if I place it somewhere preferable in a bush that it will help me see the jungler.

No that was not the fucking problem. The problem was that all your lead as a toplaner would be gone and you'd be so far behind because the enemy jungler camped you even if you didnt die. It was even worse if you died. At least now I can breathe.
The overall XP nerfs were because of toplane(and also the other lanes), since lvl 3 doublebuff ganks with fullhealth 3 min into the game were bullshit. The Scuttle changes were just some randome shit thrown in for no good reason at all.
"change for the sake of change" has been rito's motto ever since the plants were added
I wouldn't say this is 'change for the sake of change'. Their argument for this is a valid one, they just changed the wrong things. The issue of super early ganks before lanes have gotten past level 2 is a result of how safely and quickly certain champs can get through their first clear. People like WW, Yi, and Xin can trivially wipe their entire side of the jungle fast enough to get to a gank at that point, and still have most if not all of their health, so now they're the only realistically viable junglers, unless you end up stealing the enemy's first camp.
Because early game junglers with good dueling potential were camping top lane as early as 2 minutes, and this was an attempt to fix it.
Wait.....
To keep the game fun for Junglers early on - that's litterally it.
They wanted to replace the Lane-JGL interactions with JGL-JGL interaction, they did not intend to make JGL PvE for the first 10 minutes while also allow laners to have some skill expression in 1v1 scenarios during that time which REALLY suffered before 8.10 to a point where I no longer had fun in mid since I've seen so many obviously worse laners win games soley because of their JGL.
EDIT: Wow guys - really - OP asked WHY - I answered. Nice downvotes. Salty ****.

Except all the change did was buff duelist junglers like Jax / Warwick who were already strong and meta in the first place. Junglers that actually needed to farm like Evelynn were already weak. The change was unneeded and bad.
So... is that my fault?
I told you what was most likely the reason behind - nothing more - nothing less.
"Why not? C'mon, what's the worst that could happen?"
They like touching stuff.
Why did Riot add CDR to Hextech GLP / Archangel's and then nerf the unique aspects of them?
Because Ghostcrawler can't stop messing with things.
new people at riot, likes to touch stuff that it's completely fine and ignore what really needs to be worked on, here's a tip, don't jungle anymore, seriously ever since jungle was open for every champ out there that has smite and machete, decided to quit jungling, i'll do it if there's no other option or if i got autofilled, but jungle right now is a mess, pretty much like everything else in the game but there is more intense jungler get 1 or 2 kills can snowball the whole thing easily.

Just dont do scuttle. Its not worth dying for and the exp/gold it gives is not that huge of a deal. Its the vission it gives thats a huge deal, especially lane phase. If im eve vs a xin or udy i just let them have scuttle while i gank and get a kill without fear of a counter gank. Better trade for me. 70 gold vs 300 gold and a lane advantage for my ally. Vision from scuttle is useless vs perm stealth anyways.
