This would mess up the pro players though, especially those who streams. Constantly switching between the casual patch & pro patch would confuse players. They would one thing expecting it to go one way, but instead something else happens.
And what about new pro players? They constantly played on the "casual" patch before & then that have to learn ALL the changes when switching over to the pro patch while remembering how things work on the casual patches so they don't mess up in Ranked. This might demotivate some potential players from going pro.
Yes, it's possible for some players to keep up with all the changes & differences between the pro patches & casual patches, but that would be a very small number. Sometimes in the heat of the game, they'll forget about the patch dofferences & do something that could turn out badly like throwing the game.
And before anyone says,"Well it's not like the differences will be that big. Like plus or minus 5 AD on one item." Think about it, why bother making 2 separate patches for a small difference? The differences likely would have to be pretty drastic to warrant 2 patches in the 1st place.
On the positive side, 2 separate patches would allow them to change some things they couldn't before. It would allow them to buff/change champs like Garen, Yi, Katarina, etc (you know, champ dominant in low elo) to be viable in high level competitive play without pushing them over the top for the rest of the populace. Azir could finally be buffed again because the buff wouldn't go to the pro patch.
Of course such drastic changes would increase the difference between pro & casual play. Some people might stop watching because the game played in the LCS is too difference from the game the rest of us are playing.
