Lee Sin may be balanced, but it's disgusting how he has been a popular pick for years, and years, and years.

Often I ban Lee Sin on ranked because a good Lee can still have potential to carry early game, making a team that would otherwise lose, win the game hard.

On normal game (draft) I almost always ban Lee Sin simply because I don't want him to be picked on my match. I want to see people pick champions other than him. Unfortunately people almost always pick Elise, Mundo or Rengar as junglers.

I reiterate that Lee's main problem isn't pure balance. It's the fact despite so many other champions that suffer from it, Lee Sin is one of the few champions where you have pretty much no reason NOT to pick him.

And assassinates better than Khazix at all stages of the game. Rengar has a far better instagib, but other than that Lee Sin is better in every other regard.

You act like popular opinion is what matters here, when in fact it doesn't mean shit. There's a reason riot hasn't and probably never will nerf Lee for a long long time. He has a shitload of weaknesses that you are just too blind and stuck-up to notice. Amazing how a gold 5 tank-jungle main like me is actually fine with Lee while there are better players that constantly bitch about him.

Well you see when the Amumu that just Q'd onto Lee's team gets kicked back into his team and some of his team is blown up because of it then I'd say the Lee was better in that teamfight wouldn't you?

Thus, POTENTIALLY better.

That will simply not happen. You are assuming an ideal scenario where Amumu is just in line with his team so he can be kicked back and hit them. Most of the cases you will Q + R and settle the fight, or Q, get kicked back, and Q+R ten seconds later.

Using that logic, anybody could potentially be a better teamfighter than any other character. "In this very specific scenario which would be extremely rare in game, Champ X would outperform Champ Y". The thing about your example too is that it becomes a reflex game and a question of whether the lee sin was close enough to the bandaged target to kick amumu back before the almost instantaneous R. And even if he is kicked back, what are the chances of him getting kicked in such a way that "some of his team is blown up". You're really grasping at straws for this one.

You mean except that he is one of the most skill-intensive and difficult to use junglers in game, and almost no-one below Diamond can play him consistently well? (Ignoring the fact that numerous junglers outscale him hard into the late game)

That's because no one below diamond consistently practices. In another reply I compared Lee Sin to Fox from Melee. Fox is certainly the most technically difficult, and he does have clear and exploitable weaknesses, but at a top level his sheer number of options, unparalled versatility, high mobility, and a total lack of bad matchups make it that there is pretty much no reason to not play him save for just not being technically skilled enough to be consistent. No character has a ceiling as high as Fox, and the same can be said for Lee Sin.

But that's the thing. Riot has been actively working on improving this over the past couple of years, and are still working on it. So what's the beef? Should we nerf lee sin until most other champions improve in their skill ceiling and versatility? That just seems silly. He's where other champions should be. The change should be to other champions, not to him.

Here's a compiled list of, "Oh, that Lee Sin!" moments.

-When he ganks at level 3 and casually deals 700 damage with two abilities, then dashes away if he doesn't get the kill

-When you finally catch him and he presses R to stop you

-When you think you have him on the ropes but then he just ward hops across a wall

-When you almost kill him but he presses Q out of nowhere and deals tons of damage to kill you faster

-Playing stealth champs against Lee Sin, he's a walking pink ward

-When he's building full tank and assassinates your ADC

-When he uses your tank to kill your carries

-When you have river warded but Lee dashes in so fast you didn't have time to react

-That moment where Lee's Q overrides your smite on Baron

-When you think you got away with that amazing juke when he dashes to you and slows you to hell so you can't dodge his Q

-When you think you're safe when he misses his Q just to have him dash up the minion wave and E your HP away

-When he has more movement speed than a ninja even though he's blind

-When he uses your minion wave to dash in from behind you

-When he trails your Nocturne with his Q just to screw him over

-When everyone who is peeling for your ADC is knocked to kingdom come

-When you build full tank and Lee Sin still shreds your HP because ratios

What's wrong with him being popular? Lee Sin is, as has been said many times, a jack of all trades. It can get pretty frustrating that he has the freedom to do anything during the early stages of the game. But on the other hand, you can just play reactively and/or defensively and wait for power spikes ... Which isn't reliable in ranked because every day is Tiltmas, which is the actual problem.

I mean, if you can't deal with Lee's early pressure, then Lee isn't your problem. There's literally nothing that e.g. Rek'sai or Nidalee do differently pre-6.

3 ways for cheap and reliable upvotes: 1: Ask for more refunds per season. That shit gave one guy like 1500 in one post + a repost of it when it got old. 2: Complain about Riot nerfing/buffing something/changed something and give a slightly detailed reason why they shouldn't be changed. Bonus points if you call Rito a bunch of idiots. 3: Explain why low levels should have X summoner spell/all masteries/all runes.

Annoying to play against doesn't mean it is imbalanced. Many times games have had rather frustrating mechanics, but at the end those frustrating mechanics were either balanced or actually weak. In the case of Lee Sin, he's very ineffective at winning games for 99.9% of the player base and for the longest time has only ever had any positive impact when played by a professional. Lee Sin in soloq doesn't even maintain a 50% win rate even when played by people with hundreds of games. He is simply frustrating to play against since his success/fail rate is mainly up to the individual playing him rather than partially determined by his opponent, then there's the fact he's seen rather often and any champion eventually becomes annoying when they're picked 30%+ of the time.
