Lead designer was Classick. Who is the person in charge of balance tho?

Anyway, lets talk about the state of Aatrox. Right now, aatrox has really fallen off since the rageblade and devourer nerfs. I personally picked him up during that time, bought skins for him and mained him: and i still play him.

However, he is a shadow of what he used to be and is currently subpar: even when he is at his best. So lets start a discussion,

What do you guys think about aatrox?
What do you enjoy about him?
What can we do without? What do you currently dislike about him?
And how do you think riot could improve him?

I feel that Aatrox is a champion that is good in duo/team communication. I also love playing Aatrox but I feel that he needs a bit more oomf somewhere.

I think aatrox is a decent pick, i main him and he's pretty fun. But his e moves really slowly, his ult is really bland and his e moves slowly. and for some reason, he has AP scaling which makes no sense. My main problem is that his base stats are pretty low. his e travel speed should increase with attack speed, his ult should empower allies in someway for thematic reasons and his AD scaling should be buffed and AP scaling removed

given the "test changes" to shyvana and nocturne i doubt they will remove his ap scale but have you ever seen full ap Aatrox ? that has to be one of the funniest things ive seen in a long time

I totally agree with your suggestion to empower allies in some way it would fit his lore very nicely.

Wait 2-3 years and RITO will update him, if the game isn't already dead... It's funny that they change perfectly playable champions in their updates, but don't wanna touch many toxic/outdated kits.

He's probably on the weak side, not to say his laning phase is weak, but he seems to fall off lategame due to his mediocre base damage and not being able to build a whole lot of it.

Yet, if he's strong he's just a statwall that you can't budge due to powerful innate sustain, which counters trading and a revive, which counters all-ins, this is probably what makes him so extremely hard to balance.

He's problematic, with his jack-of-all trades kit. He probably needs a rework, one that makes him more specialized.
