Last game 5 sub level 30's vs a diamond 5 and plat 2 among others....AND I had the adjustment on for new champion and role. How can this be so incredibly bad? Anyone know if they are working on this? I can't imagine it's working as intended...
DrCyanide1 votesIt can be that bad because Team Builder has its own matchmaking system.
Put another way, you could be Challenger, but the first game you play in Team Builder it will consider you a noob on your main and think you're about Bronze 5 skill level.
CTore1181 votesI realize this and perhaps its the best reason for what happened. I feel like there needs to be some adjustment though. If they can do it based on champ played, why not rank or level of account?
NoMonku1 votesIt is because each queue has its own "ranking" or mmr attached to it. So they probably never play TB and got matched up with you.
I guess you can say this, but this should probably have to go both ways, right? Technically ranked 5's, ranked solo q, normal solo q, and team builder are ALL played on the same map. I normal blind pick I usually run into diamonds/plats, but in solo q ranked I'm only gold. Is it fair for me to automatically get diamond rating for not actually putting any effort into it? Also, I feel the only reason you are upset is because you are going into the game with the wrong approach. You should be going into it to try and learn and get better, while having winning be an added bonus if you can pull it off. I feel the main reason for you being upset is you just wanted to win and saw it as things being stacked against you. If you REALLY want to win so much, you are better off playing against bots. If you actually do run into higher level players, use it as an experience to play against people you would most likely never be able to run into normally and try to learn as much as you can from it.

what this means is that if you play at abnormal times like 1am for instance, you are much more likely to be placed outside your range vs 4pm when all of the little kids get out from school and swarm the servers.
many people would opt for more balanced teams, i would MUCH rather prefer it myself, however separating these players who are willing to wait longer for better games would automatically raise queue times for both beyond what they could be in either direction.
My eeeeel1 votesWell, not only in team builder, but also in sub 30 level normal queue, I have played vs diamonds and challengers with bunch of other sub 30 level smurfs.
