Hotkeys don't work!

Once in about 10 games or so, when I connect to the game none of my hotkeys work. I usually don't realize until I'm laning. I have to exit the client and relog, then reconnect and it's fine, but it usually screws the whole game. Does anyone know how I can fix this?
