So Cassiopeia was (possibly) going to be unable to use Boots items. What about Nami?

Nami - "Feet are strange..."

You'd think Nami would also be unable to use Boots items as a result. Would this result in some gameplay balance problems, or is it something that could happen in the future?

I doubt it. They came up with the passive for Cassiopeia to also serve as a way to make her scale harder than most mages while also being able to gate her movespeed in a certain way so she can kite effectively. Nami doesn't need to be forced into some kind of power curve since she fits the support curve pretty well already.

Um... Wasn't that an April Fools joke? Either i'm imagining things or Riot did actually seriously say they were doing this

It was part of the leaked/accidentally released unfinished Cassiopeia MYMU rework on the PBE. Her new passive is that she can't buy boots, but she gains MS each level

Hec should have to buy two pairs to receive the full bonus.

what if he stacks item 3111 he will get more tenacity?

You could even move the boot passive from Cassio into Nami without ANY issues. Like literally no issues. Her passive is already movespeed based, it wouldn't do much of anything to add it in there on top of it.

Was ? No, IS going be unable to buy boots. Her rework gives her the passive (titled Slither) that says she gains movement speed per level and is unable to buy boots. Riot confirmed it is the final version of the passive.

Nami on the other hand, is a support and well is pretty good the way she is. Yes, some of her Lines kind of fit with the sense of not using boots as does her character but eh.. I don't think it's needed.

If you apply Logic to items in LoL: over 90% of the items just couldn't be used by most champions.

Itemization in LoL only really makes sense in a game-play perspective. Lore-wise it has nothing to stand on. Build-paths, items providing there listed bonuses, how champions would ever equip items, and how champions could even hold their build, are all pretty nonsensical.
