He's not good if the OTHER people don't know how to work with his abilities... it doesn't matter how good you are, it matters how well your team understands what kind of impact you have on the game.
Okay, for some reason, people seem to not understand how his shrines work. The number of times my dipshit lane partner ADC has waddled across my health paks at full HP is disgusting.
Bard requires a team to actually know how to play with a support and not with a kill-deliverer character

I know he has potential, just most people in solo que cannot reach said potential. Which is why I usually avoid Bard.
I will tell you why I dodge on Bard supports.
They always abandon their ADC to go farm bells in the enemy jungle. Guess what, we both get singled out and killed.
Don't get me wrong, I have seen some godlike Bard players who made all the right calls and did a tremendous amount to help the team. But I have seen far more Bards who do idiotic things during the game.
I main Bard as supp, happens that during the champ select, when people see me insta bard don't trust me, call for troll or anything. At 0:30, players already forget this as I put 1 shrine on a solo lane, and 2 for the jungler to get his buff. If i'm matched with decent players, I end up with "honor bard" or "bard good player" and happened to duoQ with the ADC I was with.
I find this champ so fun to play, you're like a racecar all over the map, you're almost unkillable, and so is your lane in early. To get the chimes, I wait for my lane to be pushed, leave shrines, and go get the chimes to get the mana i miss. If your adc is good enough, he will hold the lane even if you are away. You can gank the midlaner and give him a good advantage. The ult can save turrets, drakes, nashors, better than janna's shield. That's why Bard is OP. But his kit can indeed have the troll side, but heh, if anyone is willing to troll, he's not obliged to pick Bard ...

He's not bad, he just has the highest skill floor of the game. Like, it's REALLY hard to get a decent play out of him.
So why pick him? Because between his shrines, his Ult, and his portals, he DOES have strengths unique to him that can help shift the course of a match, he's just heavily reliant on teamcomp, teamwork, and personal skill.

In all honesty, I actually love having a Bard support. I tend to play very safe and passively already, so a Bard leaving isn't much of a problem. The triple shrines can prove to be the difference between life or death, the ult is a lifesaver more often than not, and the journey + ult set ups for the jungler almost always result in a double kill.
I know the feeling. Soft lock Shaco results in "pls no Shaco" every time.
When I'm with an ADC who understands how to play with him, we absolutely destroy bot.
A good Bard Main is a terrifying sight to behold.

Bow down to the one who saved your asses and fed you.
Because the vast majority of Bards I play with will find the only way to ult to benefit the enemy team.
I ban him against my own team because I hate when they get caught and bring the entire enemy team into us, and I hate when they ult me to "save me" or "secure kills." brad go die in a hole.
