A lot of people use DFT on Lissandra

Why? I mean, I wouldn't call myself a pro Liss, but I do main her and I use TLD because over all it really adds to her damage given how spammy she can be. I just don't see how DFT is anywhere near TLD's level because her spells are AoE, so they only apply half the damage. Plus to get DFT, you give up Intelligence in the Cunning tree which is really great on Liss to be honest, because her Ult is up every 44 Seconds and you can spam E quite liberally to get around.

It comes down to the CD of DFT vs TLD.

DFT takes 3 seconds (1.5 seconds if AoE) to deal its damage. Lissandra uses her Q a lot for poking and fighting. TLD is nice, but the CD on it is absolutely massive even with the buff. If you do some math, you can find that at the early levels, you need about 3-4 procs on DFT to match the same damage as a TLD. Late game with a decent amount of AP, you only need 2-3 procs.

The difference in CD makes DFT more reliable and consistent than TLD. With AoE spells, you can proc DFT 13 times in the same CD as TLD (6 full times with single target). Any number of procs after 4 of DFT make it deal more overall damage than a single TLD. Also we can't ignore the fact that DFT can proc off a single spell as opposed to TLD which needs 3 AAs/spells to proc.

Lissandra does have considerable burst, but she also has solid consistent damage with her Q. TLD helps her burst, but DFT helps everything else a lot more.

Probably because it synergizes with liandry's since 3/4 of her moves slow/stun

That doesn't increase the damage though. It gets no bonus for slows or stuns. Why would that help?

I misread it earlier. I thought you said that DFT synergizes with LISSANDRA because 3/4 of her moves slow. My bad.

However, Liandry's still doesn't actually synergize with DFT. They function similarly, but they don't actually benefit each other in any way. Liandry's won't proc DFT, and DFT won't proc Liandry's. You don't get any more strength in either one for having the other. In fact, because Liandry's gives less AP than other options and DFT mainly works off of an AP ratio, Liandry's probably loses a bit of efficiency when taken alongside DFT.

Hm, I rarely ever build Liandry's on Liss but I do see how well those two things go together on her. Overall though, I guess it's mostly up to play style. Either way, I think I'll give it a try because it looks great for tank shredding if the enemy has multiple of those on their team. Thank you for the input ^.^
