WTF is going on with the matchmaking

Shit like this should never EVER happen. http://imgur.com/hCcaiLr Jayce losing lane then goes on to flame super hard blaming me jungling not camping for him

Then in my promos to Silver IV http://imgur.com/BygerpJ 2 prior season golds and 1 prior plat including 1 current Gold 5. Gold 5 & 4x S4 somehow = B1 S3 S3 S4 S4? This shows how disconnected the actual ELO is from the representing tier. If the Gold is that shitty TAKE THEM OUT OF GOLD. If the bronze is that good, promote them faster. The disconnect between points gained/lost, promotion/demotion is so out of sync

Next promo game http://i.imgur.com/1pSfOXL.jpg We get 2 brand fucking new level 30s first games ever in ranked BT build first, ignite vayne with a duoed thunderlords rush GA first item Blitz being given around S2-3 ELO while the entire enemy team has a prior MMR with many ranked games and a legit ELO for their MMR. Brand new to ranked SHOULD NOT ever be be someone's promo matches. Placements if they have a preset calculated MMR ok sure, but not someone with zero history

Matchmaking has been really off this season, more so than past seasons. Just recently played a game with a duo queue who had never played ranked before. They were mid and ADC and I was the jungler and I had over 100 cs more than them by the end of the game with a much higher kill participation too. Their lane opponents had triple their cs by the end of the game. They also didn't have any runes and their builds were questionable at best (our ziggs ADC built a triforce 2nd item.)

I have no idea why Riot starts people out at Silver MMR. It's not fair to them and it's not fair to the people that have to play with them.

The last game is actually working as intended. People are given a provisional silver mmr when they first start ranked, and then move up/downwards as they win or lose their placements. So unrankeds being placed in silver elo games is the norm and expected.

Which is totally bullshit in itself. People in placements should have to WIN their way up, not LOSE their way down.

The entire experience is made worse for everyone when you have total deadweights on your team at no fault of their own but because of the MM and lack of experience. If theyre good or a smurf in placements they should have no problem winning their way up. if they're legit noobs at the game they should start low rather than lose their first 20 (really how fun is that for them too?) to tank their way down

Win there way up or lose there way down? No matter what there has to be a starting place to go up or down with and that place is silver. Think of it like this silver is 0 mmr were people start bronze is negative and gold+ is positive. It's much better overall to have peoples first game in silver to see if they can hold there own or get crushed then to place them all in bronze because then smurfing would then become an actual problem where at the moment smurfing isn't really that big of a deal and the odds of getting someone who doesn't know what there doing in your silver game is really unlikely and with that one loss they are now considerably lower mmr.

I'm just explaining how it is dude, don't shoot the messenger.

How long ago was those games? I na.op.gg your account and saw your games and the ELO of others to be normal.

At first I thought it was Ranked Flex as that would explain the reason you'd have higher ELO players but you had more Solo queues than Flex and your Flex games are normal looking.

They were a day or 2 ago.

Side note is that I did win both of those promo games because:

  1. This is my smurf acct so I'm actually able to carry. If I wasnt a smurf here the MMR is pretty fucked
  2. The Heimer in game 2 was a super troll autofilled support who didnt care about losing 1 LP at Silver 1: 1 LP, while the Galio and Illaoi had to absolutely stomp to carry the bot lane. Wouldve been an easy loss if it werent for 2 heavy carries + enemy bot throwing

Welp you already answered why their was higher MMR players in the game besides you. It was to balanced the game out as the system probably indicated you to be a higher player rather than just Silver.

I have my Silver account in Platinum games because the MMR was higher and in your case you are lower ranked BUT higher MMR.

I have so few actual ranked games on this account, made late last year. There should be no way they should ever put plat or diamond in silver games if silver cant even duo with them no matter their ELO

Move people up and down faster and have the last season's ranking have at least some impact

But looking at your game history it consist of a lot of wins and prior to how you've played in the game Riot/the ranked system probably indicated you were higher MMR. Pants are Dragon had a Gold/platinum game when he was Challenger with 400 LP or so. Crazy world.

My best guess is the MMR system that 'balances' the MMR rating as shown on na.op.gg took the platinum/diamond into the game to do so.

Sure my MMR is inflated. OP GG lists me as being higher but only Silver 3 because I dont have that many games to inflate it that much, but in what world would matchmaking in the first screenshot EVER happen?

From silver 5 to diamond in the same damn game. I could maybe with a long stretch understand if it were the plats and diamonds were still doing placements in season 7, but that's not the case when I have a current season 7 diamond and plat on my team to grossly inflate the MMRs. Was I the only jungler queuing at the time or what? Autofill couldnt find anyone to fill these games?

Rank and MMR are two different things, the MM still uses MMR to match players, however, it is very flawed because there are Tiers, i.e, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Plat, etc.

Therefore your MMR might lose only 1-5 points while your League Tier losts 10-20 points. The same can be said for gains.

That is why Tier(s) are not a good way to judge a player.

However, I think your trying to suggest that "time/experience" is unfair in the MM and that is a potential problem because, no matter how high a person's MMR, if they are not adept to the meta, or the "way the game is played" that gives the other team an advantage.

But, by using time/experience as a factor in MM, then it would negatively impact other games too. Because the counter saying goes, just because you play more does not mean your good and vice versa (there could be geniuses).

So I think what you want is a balance between time/experience, MMR and League Tier to be placed into consideration when making matches, am I correct?

Thats the point of those shitty placements. To give you shitty matchups and stay in that tier , so riot can grab some more $ from you or make you keep playing this fucking frustrating game First of all silver is worse than bronze because all new lv 30 accounts that go for ranked starts in silver, which doesnt make any fucking sense. Well, its riot

You have to go to the individual accounts and refresh the pages dude.

About the first game, normal MMR is seperate to Ranked MMR. I've had a Master tier TF lose to a silver Xin-Xiao midlane.

Teemodanegro1 votes

Matchmaking doesn't take into account of last seasons MMR, just current season. Because the current season has already lowered the MMR from last season. And if a Platinum player is still in Silver I wouldn't bat an eye to say that he's really shit.
