Can Rek'Sai get a Lissandra level Passive Update?

BLIGHTBRINGER··42 votes·15,082 views

Lissandra recently got a new Passive which fits her more thematically.

Rek'Sai being the Queen of the Xer'Sai species, seems to have a really dull Passive which seems to lack the theme relation. She generates fury and it gives a really weak, non-scalling healing.

She deserves something more interesting...

Her passive can be save putting a %missing health scale with ad on that. This way she would really have a passive while still being forced to pick up ad.

This seems the simple and easy solution, 20HP level 1, 190HP level 18? But then you'll have 3000HP and need to actually leave the fight to get that HP back. It's a passive made for the jungle only so lane Rek'Sai doesn't even exist, just like Skarner.

This is a really good idea. How about 5% Missing Health + (3% per 100 Bonus AD)?

I feel her passive is more her tremor sense than anything else she is in a pretty good spot tbh with alot of variety in how you build her . With laning phase extended her heavy ganking style is very nice as a jungler.

I'm sorry but I have played over 500 games of her this season and that is completely not true being able to see stealth champions is the whole reason I play her and the extended sense range is so helpful . It is an ability that takes alot of getting used to though.

Being able to "see" stealthed champions is situational and there are champions that counter them way harder than Rek'sai does.

And her Tremor Sense range is only 1300, 100 more units than the usual 1200 vision range.

I wouldn't say that 100 extra range is worth sacrificing your ability to distinguish units from eachother and only being able to see where the units you can't even distinguish are every 1.5 seconds.

It's honestly an amazing ability and I can't even begin to describe all the situations it was secured me kills or saved me. I honestly have played that champion an unbelievable amount .

Of course champion's ability has some good part and bad part, Tremor Sense lets you see the "POSITION" of "MOVING" stealthed champions or units, and I see that you know Rek'Sai well , but when she burrows she can barely see anything beside her. It just depends how you use it. If you played over 500 games of Rek'Sai or more, I am sure you know how to play and use her abilities.RekSai

In all honesty I always carry a control ward just in case XD

1300 range over walls Not to mention you can toggle it. If you want to see clearly what's going on you can just unburrow or drop a ward.

If your enemy is in normal line of sight, you're right. It's worse. But it's better in pretty much every other case. (It also fits Rek'Sai very well thematically)

It's not just 100 range. It goes through wall, "see" into bushes, etc.

You can't see people that stand still.

DeathBurst1 votes

Yeah, it's different from vision, with different strength and weaknesses, but saying "it's useless because it's almost the same range anyway" is totally bad faith.

BLIGHTBRINGER3 votes

Honestly I don't think it's too bad, it would be slightly better however if the tremor had a more frequent response, because of it's delay each time it can be tricky to know for sure where the enemy is.

Phhase1 votes

Are you joking it's one of her core tools.

DorkunedAuras2 votes

I can't be the only Rek'Sai main who feels blind when they don't have access to tremor sense.

Bârd3 votes

I personally really like her passive.

Then again, I play her as a top laner or support, where it's a useful passive. I know it's dogshit in the jungle.

I'd probably tack her current passive onto her W and give her something new entirely on the passive slot.

AirKingNeo3 votes

well yeah cause they gutted her healing

feintfiend3 votes

I stopped playing RekSai because she has no passive, only 1 cc and its single target and her damage isn't even good to make up for this. She gets outscaled very hard.

Terozu1 votes

Her knock up is aoe...

Gravesinger1 votes

Her knock-up hasn't been AOE for a while, only hits closest target now. Take it from a guy that used to love that champ, they gutted her and left her for dead.

Terozu1 votes

No, it knocks up the main target and knocks back all other targets for a slightly shorter cc duration.

DeracadaVenom3 votes

Her passive healing is so bad she basically has no passive.

Crowald3 votes

Void champions seem to be the target of a lot of the balance team's vitriol or neglect. Kha'zix lost his cool brush-campy passive for evo ult.

Lissandra basically got a Kog'maw passive, but better because you don't have to suicide to trigger it.

I'm a Renekton main and he technically dosent even have a passive. Its just an explanation of his resource

Reksai needs an update overall. But don't worry instead of helping Reksai Riot went and updated Ezreal.

I think her tunnel should have a lower cool down at earlier ranks. A 26 second cool down on her only gap closer is a bit ridiculous. Once it’s maxed out, and with some cdr, it ends up feeling a lot better, but in the early game it feels incredibly restricting.

Terozu1 votes

Honestly it just needs to be faster imo.

420 grams1 votes

Honestly I'd be happy if they just made her w vision range the same as smite range so you actually have a realistic chance to catch somebody.

I say have her Fury interact with the rest of her kit, as it does with her E (which is my favorite mechanic about her.) It could be used to really solidify her identity as a bruiser that gets stronger the longer shes fighting.

perhaps have her passive give her a reason to STAY fighting; reduce the current Fury gain to something much lower (like... 10 per auto attack or ability use? might be a bit low) and give her a new passive that triggers once she hits max Fury. Have her enter like a "blood rage" when she gets full, like old Aatrox, get a %Max HP/%Missing HP heal and a nice attack speed boost that quickly decays. if she activates her E while in this Fury State, it deals true damage.

just an idea. literally ANYTHING is better than what shes got rn. Lissandras passive is a great example of what can be done for a champion with only small work

HeazonZ1 votes

When I think of rek'sai, I don't think of her as a champion who would want to be in a long, extended fight. She either does her combo and gets you low enough to kill you, or just manages to chunk you and has to run away after. So if they change her passive, they could make it something that boosts that type of play style. For example, if she burrows at full fury, she gets a small movement speed buff and maybe some slow resistance as well. And if she is in the vicinity of a tunnel entrance that is open, the buff is increased if she moves towards it (so even more move speed and slow resistance.) This would help her either to continue chasing her prey by burrowing after her combo, or to get away after chunking a tankier target like a darius or illaoi.

depends on whether you're talking about pre or post-rework rek'sai. originally, she liked longer fights better. that's just a matter of preference I suppose. I like her current kit waay better, but I think bruisers as a class should enjoy drawn out fights more.

its also worth noting on whether we're talking about a small update or JUST reworking the passive and THATS IT. my theoretical passive change probably wouldve come with a few other teeny changes (like ezreals update)

your passive idea is a good starting point, but I think its a bit too similar to Phase Rush. If you wanna make a passive that fits in with her current kit, perhaps keep the current healing-for-fury effect but buff the values a bit. then, make it so that if she reaches max fury; maybe she gets the movement speed you said, and the healing she gets once burrowed is buffed significantly. maybe even like... have her burrow cooldown reset to zero when she hits the maximum fury (as a small buff because I hate hate hate that her burrow cooldown is so long) and have the Max Fury healing come faster when she burrows.

basically; that adds up to: hit max fury stacks, get a movespeed boost, get your burrow cooldown reset, and get really big healing when you do burrow. that'd help the in-and-out playstyle you suggested.

taleofsonata1 votes

sure she gets an update, 1st lets remove 20% ratio on her Q then 20% ratio on her R and give her a passive that require her to hit all spell only if there is 1 enemy with a control ward and she will do 20% more damage.

KoKoboto1 votes

Rek'Sai is a trash champion and because she has a small player base she won't be changed for time

DeathBurst1 votes

I'm always a bit surprised when people complain about "champs having no passive".

Who cares? What's important is the kit as a whole, and whether or not it feels cohesive and functional, and balanced compared to other champs. The question of "in which case should each part of the kit go" is a matter of presentation, but has no real impact on the champ.

For instance, Illaoi's "slams" where part of the passive at first, and now they are on the Q, I think, but it doesn't change anything about how they work. It's just that it was more intuitive to put that description in the Q box instead of the P box. Shyvana also had a change like that a couple years ago, where her P was saying "basic attacks enhance her abilities" and then they moved that into each ability where they directly described what the enhancements were. It was more natural and easier to understand.

why would you ever pick reksai OVER pyke ?

Putting the "bury" effect aside, pyke has everything better than reksai apart from mana cost

Terozu1 votes

Higher Range, vision without vision, longer range, more survivability, better sustained damage.

The Anivia OTP1 votes

range is equivalent (and you put this twice btw)

pyke have more suvivability with his passive.

better sustained damages , but it's gameplay is not adapted to sustained damages , it cannot reposition itself.

Terozu1 votes

Yeah mb on the repetition, but I meant in a straight fight, RekSai is naturally tankier than Pyke.

Also her Execute is much higher range.

5050BS1 votes

You hit the nail on the head.

pyke have more suvivability with his passive.

Reksai USE to have an "Ok" passive with way better healing. She could Sustain top lane with other sustain champs. But then some idiot at RuinIt nerfed it to the underground.

Give back her Passives healing and GIVE BACK HER AOE KNOCKUP!

The Anivia OTP2 votes

he passive is a garbage version of tahm and pyke's

I thought her passive was OKAY but what would be something better suited for her character?

Maybe she has a small amount of damage reduction, scaling with level, when she is in her burrowed form and after damaging a champion with her W unburrow, it persists for like 1 - 1.5 seconds. That would really help for when you are in burrowed form sniffing around and someone who you couldn't detect blows you up. It would also make you a tankier diver, which she desperately needs as the squishy fighter she currently is. That would be a better passive than her shitty heal she has now.

You want huge nerfs to Rek'sai in exchange for a passive that does nothing in 90% of scenarios in 75% of every game's duration?

BLIGHTBRINGER1 votes

I didn't mention nerfs anywhere lol

Vekkna1 votes

That's what "Lissandra level update" means. Gut the basic abilities in exchange for sometimes maybe occasionally dealing situational damage.....if you're lucky.

BLIGHTBRINGER1 votes

Those nerfs weren't that huge to be honest. Sure they are noticeable but it was needed vonsidering how high the base damage is on her new Passive damage, that has no cooldown mind you.

Vekkna1 votes

And deals less damage than Ghost Poro in most games.

Nerfs weren't that huge? Umm... you saw the last nerfs to Leblanc, Akali, and Graves, right? Liss nerfs were bigger than those three nerfs combined in exchange for a passive that is out-damaged by Ghost Poro most games.

Just saying...you don't want Riot giving you a new passive because they will fuck your champ. You think it's bad now, but it will just be worse when they are through.
