I have not seen a single game this season, hell, in the last season and a half that there was a damn Corki in my game. Why now all of a sudden does a champion that is barely played and also has a near 50% winrate getting nerfed???
Because he's dominating the mid lane in pro games a bit too much.
Pro play
Last season Ryze was the worst champion in the game with 45% win rate and he was nerfed.
Balance is primarily around pro play. The pro's play too much Corki and Azir mid.
I've only seen him a few times, but yeah hes really strong. He's got more damage than the adc at any point in the game, and because of his mixed damage, tanks are nothing against him
Because Riot fails to understand why Corki is picked in pro play so often. Instead, they would rather nerf a champion that is of little real consequence to try to force mid lane meta in pro play to change. However, he was not overly buffed or anything to cause this. It is a complete misunderstanding of the game that brings them to these worthless changes.
There are two types of pro-play dominating champions:
Those who, because of their high skill cap, benefit the best players more than normal players regardless of how they're performing for the masses. Zed, Katarina, and Lee Sin fall into this category.
Then there are those who win in stats, but are flat out not fun to play to most people. Aurelion Sol, Azir (apart from his single mechanical interaction), and Vladimir fall into this category.
Corki is one of the latter. He's got an odd style, but not in a good way, and so his strengths are really only used by people who are willing to sacrifice fun for performance... Basically the entirety of Professional video game players.
Because Worlds is coming up and no one wants to see Azir Corki every game.
I don't understand that either. With the Qiyana buffs, with Talon and Zed still exsisting in pro play, with most mages having a huge advantage vs Corki in laning phase, he is receiving nerfs? Makes no sense but this r%%%%%ed questionable balance team, hasn't done anything that makes sense anyways
