Why do some vaynes go warlords, and some fervor?

Whats the difference? Isn't warlords bad on vayne due to the nerf? I see people like Gosu go that, and get ie shiv. But I personally go fervor, botrk, rageblade pd. Halp?

Warlords is useful for sustain and kite, which is key on Vayne in high elo because people will take advantage of your weak early game. Fervor is something you either take in low elo, or against a passive lane with no kill pressure.

Warlord's covers up her fairly weak lane, as well as working well with a strong new build for her, Runaan's + Lifesteal, to make her basically unkillable. Lifesteal applies on all 3 bolts, so people will build stuff like Runaan's, Mercurial, Frozen Mallet, and Bloodthirster and basically have enough lifesteal to be impossible to kill. Check out this video by Phylol for details: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMjLXZZxb8A

Meanwhile, some people go for a Shiv + IE burst-based Vayne build, which is also good. Phylol did a video on that build, too, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPg_-7tf2Yo Basically, it's a difference in playstyle. If you're not as good at keeping yourself safe, go the lifesteal build. If you are great at keeping yourself safe, go the crit build.

Warlords is the safe choice

warlords give you sustain in lane and fervor give you more damage. You go warlord in lane where you think you're at a disadvantage.

Like if you're Vayne against Cait you're more likely to take warlord for more sustain in lane vs damage.
